''The roadside that became Jessica St. Jules’s temporary resting place after she was slain is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of place.''

''Staff Sgt. Andrew Knevel told CBC Hamilton Jessica St. Jules, of Hamilton, was found on June 8 on the west side of Nineteenth Street, in the town of Lincoln.
He said she had strong ties to Hamilton, where police believe she lived.
Knevel added St. Jules was in Hamilton within the last week.''
"It's a very large area to cover with houses spaced out far from each other, but we're covering off that entire area looking for CCTV footage," he said.''

''Just last month, police in Niagara wrapped up another case of a woman found beside a road in Lincoln.
In 1999, 26-year-old Nadine Gurczenski of Toronto
was found dead in a roadside ditch in the same area as this weekend’s discovery.
Police were able to identify the killer in that case but say he died in 2017.''

''The Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide Unit arrested and charged Pedro Benitez Leal on Tuesday.
Police say at 3:10 p.m. on June 8 officers were called to the area of Nineteenth St. and Seventh Ave. in Lincoln following the report of a deceased female.

Investigators determined St. Jules, known to have connections in the Hamilton and Halton area, was last seen getting into a vehicle around 4:20 a.m. that day near the Hamilton Public Library at 571 Barton St. E.
The vehicle was described as a 2018-2020 Dodge Grand Caravan, granite in colour.''

''St. Jules was last seen entering a Dodge Grand Caravan on Barton Street in Hamilton at around 4:20 a.m., hours before she was found around 40 kilometres away, police said.

Authorities released an image of the vehicle and last week, a Hamilton resident alerted police of a vehicle similar to the one St. Jules was seen entering, Knevel said.

Knevel said police believe the driver in the released image is that of the man that they've charged.

There is no evidence to suggest that St. Jules and the suspect had any previous contact, Knevel added.''
