This is a crazy question, but is there indisputable proof that K&B actually did commit these murders? I mean proof in terms of what RCMP has released so far.

What if K&B had a gun that was stolen from them? What if the murders were committed by whoever stole said gun from them? Who knows how many they had to start with. Perhaps two, and when they were left with one, they took turns committing suicide with the same gun?

I was just thinking the same thing. So far the only proof of anything is that they were driving LD's car, correct?

Wasn't it reported that there were two guns found with them at the end? I thought that was what I read.

As to seeing them driving LD's car, that is a pretty solid clue as to their guilt. How else did they get a dead man's car?

If they were totally innocent, why were they running?

I'm not sure why you're intimating that I don't recognize family members as victims from a post where I said someone could burn a vehicle without leaving far from home. <shrug>

My apologies if I was unclear. My response referred to your comment that there are few mass murders in Canada. I'm just trying to raise awareness of what mass murders actually entail.

If he was paid for the 60 Minutes thing, does anybody know how long their “exclusive” rights might last? He may still be prevented from talking to other outlets at this point.

Yes, possibly.

“Previously, Schmegelsky’s father Alan told reporters that he did not expect his son to be found alive. He did not make a public statement Wednesday, instead a small sign was taped to the window of his home asking people to stay away...”

Yeah that is a weird thing, now that I think about it. If the whole thing was planned as a murder trip, why pack all their belongings? Why not just say they wanted to travel light, bring just a suitcase each, etc.? I didn't even pack all my belongings when I went away to college for the semester. Packing everything indicates to me that they were planning to go somewhere (somewhere in civilization, since they brought the gaming computer) and not come back for a while if ever.

Also if the murders were planned, why did they start going in the opposite direction after Lucas and Chynna's murders? You would think the plan would be to get out of the area ASAP and continue to Whitehorse so as not to arouse suspicion.

I don't think it was originally planned as a 'murder trip.' I think they were planning to find a new destination, to settle in and find adventure. But their true selves got in the way, chaotically, impulsively and violently. Then there was no turning back.
