Well, Paintr, I think the frolicking part comes from the various poses, gestures, and activities described in venemous detail today by the various reporters.

Thankfully, the Judge has not allowed the frolicking pictures to be released.

I agree, but I also believe that word is a bit of creative embellishment by the reporter. Everything I read today in the live blogs described an un-smiling RW while posing for the pictures he took. I think he took this stuff seriously and was (obviously) aroused. He wasn't "fooling around".

Okay, thanks NBG and Pinkeye. I'm actually relieved to hear that it's unlikely photos will be leaked that aren't supposed to be. Less concerned about the ones today than what may be shown tomorrow.

Wondergirl, I see that you too found today overwhelming. My adrenalin was pumping like mad, jumping back and forth from browser to browser, copying and pasting, posting, reading. It was madness. And there will be more of the same tomorrow. (My husband is lucky he got dinner at all tonight, albeit take-out.)

It was pretty crazy today, I agree with what you say here, it was the same for me, and I was at work (with an accomdating boss, lol). Needless to say, I didn't get much work done.

One of the reporters posted that all the journalists were pretty much in the same boat, being new to live blogging the trial, they were drained. The Macleans blogger give up, the pace was too demanding. I think it was the CBC that said even one of the journalists who was writing a book on Williams, was shocked by the relevations in court today.

I agree that he doesn't look like he is frolicking at all. The ones I saw at the link above look like he is posing and sometimes in the exact same place and in the same stance. How he laid the underwear out in perfect rows and columns like at a clothing store is just weird.

Makes you wonder if he took these pictures when his wife was out of town. Just weird.

I suppose anytime a grown man is wearing ladies underwear he could be described as frolicking.

Exactly. He went to 2 fields in Ottawa to burn evidence, when he "ran out of space". They found 600 items of underwear etc. upon arrest, which he was going to put to the curb 4 days later, after his arrest.

But the Crown is really pressing the escalation of his crimes. So, it would seem, that they must think he just started doing it, with his first detailed spreadsheet entry that they recovered.

I am a little skeptical, myself.

I tend to agree. Or, something happened in Dubai (camp mirage). That place is seriously messed up. Perhaps a crime of opportunity started it all.

It was stated that RW took 186 pieces from one home, LE stated they found around 600 pieces. He broke into 48 different homes, lets just say he took 20 pieces from each home...that would be 960 pieces, I guess he didn't need that many to insulate his basement ceiling, so he burnt some!

It does sound unlikely that he started so late in life and many WS members have written the same thing. But all media reports (and LE) say he began just three years ago with the break-ins. Not one has suggested (yet) that earlier evidence has been destroyed. Still, it's possible.

As for the burning of extraneous evidence, I can see how and why this happened. One report had him taking 186 items from ONE victim! With "only" a total of 82 B & Es, at that rate those garments would add up awfully quickly.

Police also found a profane letter Williams wrote on his computer to a 24-year-old woman from whom he stole over 186 pieces of clothing, including lingerie.

So, even if there were no more than those 82, I can see him choosing the most desirable of the collection and destroying the rest to make room. And even if he destroyed physical evidence from earlier break-ins, why would he get rid of the computer records he was so fond of keeping? It's not as if they take up a lot of space.

I could be wrong, but maybe RW was just a late bloomer. He certainly hasn't fit into many other moulds, so why this one?

Quinte West Mayor John Williams was nearly sick to his stomach when he heard some of the details coming out of the Belleville courtroom Monday.

"He's sick. He's a f...... monster,'' said Williams.

That's how the mayor described the double life of Col. Russell Williams.

How could a man, said Williams, who commanded the country's largest air force base, a man who played such a large role in the military and civilian communities do such horrible things to so many people?

"In a matter of months he's gone from being one of the most respected people in the community to being a sicko murderer. I'm like everyone else, I'm still in shock,'' said Williams.

"I'm glad he entered a guilty plea. It spared the victims' families and local communities months of additional grief. The horrible details that came out Monday are bad enough.''

As mayor, Williams spent a lot of time with his military counterpart.

I wonder how Russ will sleep tonight. Laying there knowing that his co-workers, friends, his wife, family members and the WHOLE WORLD now know about his cold hearted sick and twisted life. Knowing that every major media outlet watched his photograph collection of him jacking off on childrens beds, modelling their undergarments and doing other gross things that I won't even repeat. JMO, but I think we will hear of another suicide attempt very soon! It will save us the tax dollars!!!!!!!

I am a little skeptical, myself.

This is one part of the story that has me really surprised. Putting the garbage out on the street; in front of his own house! I can only imagine that would have been a stressful day at work wondering if it made it to the garbage alright. If anybody were to realize that the garbage contained several hundred items of lingerie it would be apparent of something more than a spring cleaning. I think he was getting very sloppy near the end.
