The new episode of The Night Time Podcast covers the disappearance of Mekayla Bali and features excerpts from my in depth discussion with her mother Paula Bali.

Do you have a transcript? I'm a reader, not a listener. Does her mother shed any more light on why Mekayla might leave the city? Or about rumours there was abuse in the family?

oh wow, i used to live across the street (dunlop) from sacred heart. i attended school there too. i knew that area well in the eighties when i was a teen..

I deleted that comment from my website, I suspect they must have misunderstood the recent reports about the search being conducted in the wooded area surrounding her school.

I don't have a transcript, the episode is made up using excerpts from an interview rather than a script.

Anything new in this case?

[h=1]Raising awareness of Bali case[/h]
Jordan Bonaparte is several thousand miles and five provinces removed from Yorkton, but he makes sure to keep up with the local news. The Nova Scotian keeps tabs on developments and press releases about the Mekayla Bali investigation. At home in Halifax, he has a large binder of reports, press clippings, and online posts on the case.

Bonaparte avidly follows mysteries around the world. His podcast, “The Night Time,” focuses on unsolved whodunits, paranormal activities, and true-crime stories, mostly around Atlantic Canada.

Bonaparte has also covered cases from across the country, such as the disappearance of Emma Fillipoff in British Columbia.
The search concluded after two days. In a press release, Saskatchewan RCMP said Bali is still considered missing.

Paula Bali, Mekayla’s mother, read a prepared statement to the press about the search.

“I would like to...applaud the amazing search and rescue volunteers who have given so much of themselves unselfishly,” she said. “You are heroes to our family.”

Paula thanked the RCMP for their continued investigation. She encouraged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or the local police.

Paula spoke with Bonaparte for the podcast. Bonaparte reached out to Paula and got to know her. After a few conversations, Paula agreed to be interviewed for the episode.

I would enjoy hearing what members of websleuths think of this, and if it changes your opinions on her case.

:tyou:

Is there any chance she was being bullied???

:candle:

Where are you Mekayla???

Just don't know, I would think LE would have looked into that. It seems she made a conscious decision, not saying she wasn't somehow forced. LE has not released anything new or anything from her laptop or cell. So strange. Praying she is found safe

Mekayla Bali hasn’t been seen or heard from since April 12, 2016, when she was last seen in Yorkton, however her mother says they still continue to believe she’s alive. Paula Bali says it’s simply a gut feeling she has telling her, her daughter is still alive, but more than likely in a difficult situation. Police and the Bali family have received tips from thousands of people across Canada and the United State, however nothing has resulted in her finding.

With all the speculation on her mom's Facebook page, I really wish that the RCMP would at least release whether or not they think Mekayla is moving around of her own free will. If she is alive, is she eluding police contact because she doesn't want to be found at all, or is someone keeping her from communicating with police?

I have seen so much of Mekayla's case (mostly through SM) but I never joined the thread here, for some odd reason. I also didn't know that tips were coming in from Seattle/Portland? I didn't come across any mention of that in SM, only MSM. Anyway, marking my place now.

It's been the other way around for me. Nothing via MSM, just SM. Mekayla's NCMEC page is the only indication from LE that sightings may be credible.

Oh I only meant the Seattle parts. I hadn't seen the Seattle info on any flyers etc. I didn't even know she might go by a different name. :scared:

RCMP search wooded area near Yorkton school in Mekayla Bali investigation

...Over the past year, investigators have searched social media and bank records, but as of April, they hadn’t been able to confirm a digital footprint for the missing teen.

“People just don't vanish without anybody knowing anything,” said RCMP Superintendent Jen Ebert in April. “There is someone out there who knows something.”

Since her disappearance, police have received more than a hundred tips and have had possible sightings reported.

“It has been very disturbing that there has been no sighting of her in a year that we have been able to confirm,” said Ebert in April. “That's why we're pleading with the public, whoever knows anything to please share that information with us.”

..."So we were searching that area for any evidence or anything we could find to confirm she had been in that area," Supt. Jennifer Ebert said. "We haven't been able to corroborate information on the timeline or fill in those holes."

Ebert told reporters the latest search has renewed interest in Bali's disappearance, resulting in "a couple additional tips."

"This helped remind people of the investigation, remind them of what they saw," she said. "We still need that critical, key piece of information to find out what happened to her that day."

Police have a list of tasks to "close the loop on," and continue to pursue leads, Ebert said.
