Are these the two people you are comparing? If so, I don't think they are the same person.

The best way to compare photos of persons from childhood to adulthood is to compare their ears. Ears are about the only body parts that remain the same throughout life.

IMO, Michael Dunahee's left ear looks quite different from canuckles' ear. I wish I had a more direct view of both of their ears, but from what I can see, I can see differences.

Yes, they are the 2 people.

Thank-you, Carl. :blowkiss:

Am sooooo waiting to exhale on this outcome. With hockey, football and general roughhousing that boys do it's possible to get smacked in the nose more than once and that could also lead to a ''coarsening'' of his features. The ears do resemble the granddad's. I have seen ears and noses ''change'' in boys more so than girls from baby pictures (MOOO am no expert)

I just feel that if the man is not MD, both he and MD's family will be altered because of this whole thing.

I do agree it should be done, however, because, despite the possible ear discrepancy, Canuckels really does bear a strong resemblance to both Dunnahee men, IMO

There is a strong resemblance yet a part of me is skeptical. It does seem odd that this man doesn't remember much of his youth.

It's been awhile now. Surely the results are in. I'm not sure whether that means there's a potential outcome, or if nothing was found.

I agree, wondergirl, that this will impact both families. The Dunahee's are probably filled with hope, as always, and the other family? I'm sure Canuckels has a lot on his mind.

If you look at the families website http://michaeldunahee.ca/app/en/ and go to their slide show, there is a really good side shot that shows his ear. you can enlarge the slide to full screen.

I've seen a lot more public photos and the resemblance to Bruce Dunahee is uncanny. The ears also appear to be a better match. I would be surprised if it wasn't him, I would also be surprised if it was.

More pictures of the man who might be Michael? I would be interested in seeing those but I can't seem to find them. I have wondered if the one photo of the man that is everywhere is slightly squished. It's not the highest quality photo and if it has been slightly squished (can't think of a better word for this, flattened maybe?) I would think that the resemblance is much stroneger and the ears might be a better match.

I'm not sure if against rules, but they are public and on facebook. Also, check out pic number 25 in the slide show on the michaeldunahee site.

Can you give a hint as to what you searched for?

There is a public facebook page for Michael Dunahee.

I have seen that site. I was referring to the additional pictures you mentioned about the man in question currently. Or did I misread what you wrote?

Also, I was reading the VictoriaBC subbreddit and VicPD posted that results would be months. They also have a lot more info that leans towards it not being Michael.

What is the info?

This man had his DNA taken for testing on July 17 and yet, still no publicly released results.

Seems like a very long time to obtain results for such a high profile disappearance.

After watching the archived 1991 video news report made 2 months after Michael's disappearance, I find the father strongly resembles this man who happens to be around the same age of the father in the video.

The photo posted by the man on the Canucks forum isn't the best for comparison, especially compared to 4-year old Michael.

I have seen dozens and dozens of photos of this man taken in the past few years, a couple even dating back to his childhood years. Not only does he bear a striking resemblance to the father at that age and somewhat the mother, he also bears a very strong resemblance to Michael's sister when compared side by side from her FB page.

I find it very interesting that his FB page, forum posts, etc. disappeared so quickly after the story hit the media, and more interestingly the public page where he posted so many photos was taken down about a week and a half after the DNA was taken and now nearly every trace of him online is gone.

There's also no doubt this man's name is highly unusual.

As I, and so many other people eagerly await the results, the long wait and the fact the story has been all but dropped by the media may mean this is a sign that they want to be extra sure and/or give the family privacy and plenty of time before the results are released to the media.

My gut says this man is Michael Dunahee.

On August 3rd, in response to an inquiry via Twitter on when the DNA results would be in, the Victoria Police Department said "we won't have the results for a few months, but we'll update when we do."

A few months?

The sample was taken 3 weeks ago today and yet it will take another "few" months from now? So results should be ready by this fall??

It's 2013!! The technology must be available to get results faster than that;Especially considering the resources they must be utilizing on a case as important and high profile as this.

I just don't buy that it is going to take that long.

It almost seems obvious now that they are stalling for time so the family digests the news first, which would make more sense than a DNA test that takes 3 or 4 months (or more) to complete.

That being said, you'd also have to think the news would get out pretty fast (in not, immediately) regardless of all attempts to keep the results private.

You'd be surprised how long it takes to get DNA back sometimes. Yes, there are those cases that come back in a few days. But more often than not, it's a few months. I've even seen a few that have waited over a year to get the results back.
