I thought of the Lakeshore/Parklawn attacker as well. The size of the man and way he walks are consistent with the Semret attacker.
I also considered the case above. The suspect here is seemingly older and smaller than the guy in the Semret case.
However;
There isn't much to go on in the N.Semret case, as the age and ethnicity of the attacker aren't clear.
The elderly woman at Dundas Square, for understandable reasons, probably gave the police a vague description of the suspect.
The bizarre nature of this crime, and the fact that it was committed with an edged weapon, would make one wonder if there is a link.
Yes, a terrible attack.
The fact that it was completely unprovoked makes a link with any other unprovoked assaults a possibility.
I wish we had a better description of the suspect.
It’s unclear how many times Mr. Parker was stabbed but his most serious injury was a knife wound that went through the back of his head and through his brain, Mr. Michaels said.
Police are calling it a completely random act of violence
Doctors surgically removed part of Mr. Parker’s skull to relieve some pressure but his wounds proved too grave.
Nabil Hurhuy, 23, was arrested in Scarborough Saturday afternoon and charged with first-degree murder, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of carrying a dangerous weapon

Kudos to Det Giroux - early on he took this one to the streets in an innovative manner and won. Surely he had to overcome language and cultural barriers to find the donor of that DNA.
Good job!
