An earlier article said that the home was inspected for it's heritage (historical?) value. It sounds like Transport Canada inspects these homes to see if they have historical value, and if they do, they offer them up for sale w/ the caveat that the purchasers have to move them off the govt's land. If they feel a house doesn't have value, it's demolished to make way for the airport.
