Canada - Robert White for building dungeon in kidnap plot, Pickering, Ont, 2011

I saw in a video there were small horizontal rectangular windows near the ceiling.

Did anyone notice there appears to be two doors to the room? I was trying to figure out the hinges and in one photo the door is hinged on the right and swinging out and in another photo the door is hinged on the left and also swinging out. ?? That doesn't seem to match LE statements that only refer to one door (when discussing how it was locked).

Yeah I caught that too...I am also confused about the doors, it is very hard to tell from the 2 second video clips. Could the picture of the door on the right be a picture of the door from outside the chamber? As for freshly painted, while one part of the room looked white and clean, the back part of it looked filthy, off white, and appeared as if it hadn't been painted in a while.

The doors are crafted from layers of lumber.

The windows are so strong, the source told CBC News, that not even a crowbar could break them.

the video is right below the headline, and above the article, its one big video with pictures of the confinement room, sorry for the confusion!

yeah thats the one, it has more detailed pics.

It sure does, thanks for mentioning it - wow, just too freaking creepy, i can hardly stand it. The idea of it all makes my skin crawl.

Question:

Why was this house not under police surveillance? If it was being watched they would have caught whoever started the fire before it got out of control, and maybe even have spotted additional activity on other occasions. I read that the room was built relatively recently. "Police said the house was last occupied in 2006, but the room was new — believed to have been built within the last year or two." If I were them I would have had my eye on this place day and night.

Also judging from the pictures, this does not look like an amateur movie set to me.

above bbm

Police would not say whether they had kept the property under surveillance since making the find in November or what progress had been made in their investigation into the confinement room.
