My approach in this type of case is - it's only 50 - 50 on whether a person brought their belongings to a location - with or without a witness. By extension a person that leaves home without their belongings is only 50 - 50 truth imo.

Seems at least one family member had an abduction and death all sorted out a couple of days after Sheree went missing, with only a marginal or slim possibility at a good outcome. Different strokes I guess.

...“My gut feeling is someone abducted her. He either did her in or took her somewhere or is holding her for whatever reason,” Sorotski said.

...Sorotski said she is a strong woman and a hard worker, and not the kind of person to give up easily.

“That’s why I’m saying she was either taken at gunpoint or knife point or there was more than one person. Because one person she could handle,” she said.

...“It has moved from a search thing to pretty much leaving it to the RCMP to do their investigation,” Whitehead said.

Although Sheree's mom said she doesn’t know of anyone who would be out to hurt or abduct her daughter I think she knows better than anyone WHO might...

:moo: :cow:

Just saying...

FYI there is an interesting article about a man who has the same first and last name as SF's husband. His first name is listed in her father's obit.

There sure is....another article confirms it is her DH.

Maybe that's why her mom is so adamant that someone did something to Sheree for her to just vanish.

Sending positive thoughts to her family & all those who love Sheree!

Her mother says the 51-year-old gravel truck driver was a hard worker and tough woman. From visits at lunch to regular work weeks, nothing seemed out of the ordinary last December. Then, Fertuck vanished.

On Monday, for the first time, police confirmed the Fertuck family’s worst fears: they are investigating her disappearance as a homicide.

“We miss her so much,” said Fertuck’s tearful mother, Juliann Sorotski, at an RCMP news conference Monday in Saskatoon.

“We believe Sheree was the victim of homicide,” RCMP Staff Sgt. Murray Chamberlin said.

A lengthy investigation has led officers to believe Fertuck was killed, and they hope a concentrated search this week will help uncover her body, he said.

“Our mission is to find Sheree and bring her home.”

Chamberlin said RCMP will begin intensive, targeted searches of “very specific locations in the province” on Wednesday in the hope that a killer will be identified. He said so far the investigation is open-ended.

This statement looks to me like LE has a theory on what happened to Sheree and who is responsible."Chamberlin said RCMP will begin intensive, targeted searches of “very specific locations in the province” on Wednesday in the hope that a killer will be identified. Saskatoon lawyer says one-year jail term overboard for owning an uzi

Posted Jul 27, 2012 on www.thestarphoenix.com

Morris Bodnar, a defence lawyer in Saskatoon, said that the Crown has gone overboard in asking for his client to be meted a one-year jail term for possessing an uzi in his home.

The weapon was discovered when police went to Greg Mitchell Fertuck's home when they were called to intervene in Fertuck's drunken argument with his wife in October 2011.

Fertuck had pleaded guilty to assault, possessing a firearm without a licence, careless use of a firearm and possessing a prohibited weapon.

Prosecutor Barbara Herder asked for the one-year jail term saying the protection of the public factored into the Crown's position, emphasizing the danger of a machine-gun lying unsecured in a garage.

Bodnar argued for a non-custodial sentence for Fertuck.

Although Fertuck didn't have any convictions on his record, he was previously before the court in 2010 on a domestic violence charge after he threatened his wife with a handgun.

He went through the court's domestic violence program at that time. http://forums.canadiancontent.net/news/108104-crown-requests-jail-man-who.html

He threatened her twice with a gun a year apart. They have been separated since 2011. I wonder if after being separated for so long she wanted a divorce.

First time poster here. I really appreciate what everyone on Websleuths does, and I think you are all geniuses. I hope that Sheree is found soon. I thought I would point out that human remains were found near Saskatoon. This is quite far from Kenaston though. http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/saskatchewan/human-remains-west-saskatoon-1.3593073

Welcome :) I too hope that Sheree is found soon, and thanks for bringing this set of remains to our attention. I don't mind looking it up, but do you happen to know offhand approximately how far from Kenaston these remains were found?

I am about 10 minutes away from where the remains have been located. While it is a long way from Kenaston, she resided in Saskatoon. I am only assuming that her ex does as well.

My thoughts on the possibility that these remains could be hers are that he could have taken her (alive or deceased) back to Saskatoon. Then he could have disposed of her body out here. The location of the body isn't too far out of saskatoon for me to rule out that possibility. But, we should hopefully find out soon who it is. There is also another woman who has been missing from Saskatoon since last year. It could be anyone, but I won't be surprised if it is one of these two ladies.

Kenaston is about 1 and 3/4 hour drive from Arelee.
