It wouldn’t surprise me if the defence blamed the auto accident in 2006 for causing a permanent but untreated mental disability.
Also that he’s testifying he was preparing to flee Calgary isn’t helping his case at all, regardless of his stated reason. That must be why one of the media reports included LE photos of suitcases in his garage. Maybe he was already packed, ready to leave, possibly prevented because he was broke?
