It is unfortunate this came out 4 years later. Anyone with any memory of anything that might have helped is probably not going to remember that far back. And without the urgency of her disappearance the hunt for him is pretty quiet.

On the other hand, now that some time has passed, those people who do remember, might want to unburden themselves of this terrible secret, imo.

RESENDEZ CORTEZ's current whereabouts are unknown and this remains an active investigation.

Antonio Valentin RESENDEZ CORTEZ has been charged with:

  • second degree murder
  • utter forged document x 2
  • fraud & attempt fraud
  • utter forged documents
  • possession of proceeds under $5000

Considering the pics of the suspect show him with short hair and a slight mustache, can imagine that he might now, grow his hair long and have a full mustache, imo, speculation.

London police announced in 2016 that they had identified a suspect and planned to charge him with second-degree murder in connection with Fotheringham’s death, but had been unable to find the then-32-year-old man.

Antonio Valentine Resendez Cortez remains at large. Police believe he was in the London area as a migrant worker, and returned to Mexico shortly after Fotheringham died.

London police confirm Vanessa Fotheringham’s remains found in South-West Oxford, Ont.

London police say he and Fotheringham, who was 24 at the time, knew each other.

London police's major crimes section is working with the RCMP and Mexican authorities to find the suspect.

As soon as I saw the news, I knew the area well. Family has a summer place just 10 minutes away. :(

Cops are hunting for Antonio Valentin Resendez Cortez in the 2012 murder of Vanessa Fotheringham.

ANTONIO VALENTIN RESENDEZ CORTEZ

411: Resendez Cortez was a Mexican migrant labourer suspected in the Feb. 12, 2012 disappearance and murder of Vanessa Anne Fotheringham, 24, of London. Her remains were discovered on Feb. 24, 2018 in South-West Oxford. He has been charged with second-degree murder and a slew of fraud-related charges. The suspected killer and Fotheringham knew each other.

After Fotheringham’s disappearance, Resendez Cortez returned to Mexico. The London Police Service Major Crime Section is working with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Mexican authorities to locate Resendez Cortez. He is considered dangerous.
