This is horrible, @dotr - I hope they catch the suspect soon! I can't imagine anyone doing something this vile. Glad the victim is alive, but I'm pretty sure she'll have to deal with PTSD along with her physical injuries...poor woman.

Suspect image released after woman pushed onto tracks at Toronto subway station | CP24.com
''Police originally said that the woman was hit by the train, but clarified she was injured due to the fall.

On Monday, Toronto police issued a surveillance image of the suspect in an effort to identify her.

Police describe the suspect as having blonde hair with an average build. They say she was last seen wearing a grey 'Levi’s' shirt, black jacket, black pants, white shoes, pink and grey toque and carrying a gray bag.

It is unclear why the suspect pushed the woman and police say there is no reason to believe the two women knew one another.

The incident prompted the TTC to suspend subway service on Line 2 between St. George and Broadview stations. Trains on Line 1 were also bypassing Bloor-Yonge Station due to the incident.

Regular service resumed on both subway lines just after 11 p.m.

This is the second time in five months that someone was pushed onto the tracks at Bloor-Yonge subway station. On Nov. 26, police said a suspect shoved a man who fell onto the tracks as a train approached. In that case, 26-year-old Toronto resident Tasho Shipinkas surrendered to police. He was charged with aggravated assault.''

Glad she was only injured by the fall (not at all minimizing her trauma). I wonder if there was an argument like in the other case you linked; I can't imagine pushing someone onto train tracks (or trying to), but IMO there's no acceptable "reason" to do this in the first place. Hope someone recognizes the suspect- fortunately, there's a pretty good photo. Crazy...

''Police tell the Star that the victim “was able to get into the crawl space underneath the platform” in order to get off the subway tracks.

There were earlier reports indicating the victim may have been struck by an oncoming train, but police now say a 39-year-old woman is in serious condition after suffering serious injuries from the fall at Yonge and Bloor Station.''

''Police say the suspect is a woman with blonde hair, wearing a pink and grey toque, a grey ‘Levi’s’ shirt, black jacket, black pants, white shoes, and carrying a gray bag. She was last seen on Bloor Street West going westbound on foot.

“We do not know what motivated this woman to carry out this assault.''

''This exclusive video obtained by blogTO shows the moment a woman was pushed onto the TTC subway tracks in Toronto on Sunday evening. The victim suffered a broken rib in the incident. Warning, this video could be hard to watch.''

''At Bloor-Yonge subway station Monday she noticed a heightened awareness among passengers.
“A lot of people are kind of moving cautiously and had their backs against the wall,” Pizey-Allen said.
“It struck a nerve, because people can relate to that feeling of being afraid on a crowded subway platform.”

''A Toronto woman who was pushed onto the tracks of a busy subway station last month is suing the TTC, arguing not enough was done to prevent her from being shoved off the platform and that first responders were unnecessarily delayed in rescuing her.

Shamsa Al-Balushi is arguing the TTC did not “implement sufficient safety protocols on the subway platform,” according to a statement of claim filed Wednesday, and did not order an incoming train to stop in time to prevent it from trapping her in a crawlspace adjacent to the rails.

She is seeking $1 million in damages, plus legal costs.''
