Suffolk police are investigating a skull and other bones found by a hunter in a Long Island field.

The hunter spotted the detached skull Friday as he followed deer tracks off a hiking trail in Middle Island, he told The Post.

“When I got closer I saw the filings in the teeth,” said the hunter, who didn’t want to be named. “I guarantee it was there a long time, over five years. There was no flesh, no hair, you could see fatigue cracks in the skull from being dried in the sun. I also saw one side of the jaw, maybe two arm bones, a collarbone, vertebrae.”

it could be Peaches, depending on how much of the vertebrae was present. According to namus Peaches says:

	Head not recovered
	Torso not recovered
	One or more limbs not recovered
	One or both hands not recovered

All 3 sumps where victims were found appear to be owned by the SCWA. Jessica Taylor's as I posted yesterday, This one the Bailey Rd Wellfield and the sump at Crooked Hill & Leahy where 1998 unidentified 16 year old teen was found.

Clothing	Jack was last seen wearing a white "Tommy Hilfiger" shirt, blue jeans, and a black leather winter jacket.
Footwear	Jack was last seen wearing brown "Lugz" boots.
Jewelry	Earrings, 3 hoops left ear, 4 hoops right ear, stud and ring nose, stud ring in tongue

I believe Jimenez was killed because he could identify the teen in the sump

Wonder if that skull in the post article is a real photo at the scene.. and why would they initially say they dont know whether its animal or human remains. Its clearly a humans skull. Found friday evening and not reported until saturday afternoon.

Maybe, but they did reach out in the media for info on the set of remains found two years ago in march up near Setauket. She was in namus with a sketch pretty quickly. She remains unidentified. It's about 8 miles away from this latest.

That skull sure does look like it's been there a long time. Wonder what other bones they found and if related to the skull or not.

This is true.. ☺️ That post article says the hunter found the remains near a field, but I don't see any field near where that sump is unless he's referring to the sump as the field.. on a map there is a square field to the northeast of that sumps location. In the pine barrens. Maybe it was that field. dunno.

I believe that sump is referred to as a "wellfield" by the SCWA, Baily Road Wellfield if I am correct. It's all dried up so field could be used to describe it I guess

What is so amusing to you? Yes I saw it and what does that mean. I get the NY Post delivered to my home, along with others. The NY Post article ONLINE is from Saturday, March 4th, the Daily News article is from today March 5th. You are assuming that the hunter took the photo. Just for the record that photo was not with the article in today's actual NY Post Newspaper. There was no photo AT ALL.

There is nothing in the article that states the hunter took the photo nor is there a name attached to that photo in the ONLINE article. It could very well be a stock photo as someone else mentioned for their ONLINE EDITION. I guess you don't know that the NY Post is the biggest RAG paper in NYC that loves sensationalism. So hahaha the joke may be on you!

Based on what I can tell from the skull picture the nasal sill is small, with a low bridge, and larger molars making the deceased likely African American.

BTW...Checked details to find loaded image source and found it is called "skull-mannerville.jpg" so therefore, not likely to be a stock photo.

Agreed. It also seems to have rectagular orbits which is also indicative of an African persons skull (however European orbits can also have slight rectangular shapes). Strange thing is the nasal aperture does not seem broad enough to be of an African person. Maybe European? Because the orbits are more rectangular than round like we see in Asian skulls.

At any rate I do believe it may be a stock photo...

ETA: just saw coffeeandacig checked and it was labeled manorville skull. Still not sure if it is a stock photo or not. Would be strange to see the skull this soon I would think?
