Very possible. Both my parents were victims of Parkinson's. Their neurologists told me over the years that Parkinson's is a syndrome and affects people differently. My Dad had the rigidness and moderate dementia; Mom was totally incapacitated for the last 2 years of her life (bed bound, voice almost gone) with a touch of dementia.

For 100% confirmation, however, an autopsy would need to be performed.

Things like this can either bring a family together or blow it apart, the latter of which happened over my mother with my siblings.

It is well known that Jean has been at odds with Casey's children for years. The time is very short, and it's a shame the children have been pushed aside and do not even know where their father is. Tsk tsk.

I have a horrible feeling that Casey Kasem's kidnapping is not just about control, spite and money, but publicity.

Sometimes facebook pages tell a lot. The offenders' pages are easy to find in the facebook search bar.
 
Kerri Kasem said she believes Jean Kasem “needs some help" because she and her family do not understand what her stepmother is doing.

“We have told her time and time again if it’s about the money, take the money, take the house,” she said. “We won’t contest the will. We won’t contest anything. Take it all. Have it all. Give us our dad back. She won’t do it and we don’t understand what she wants.”

He has appropriate medical care and prescriptions as provided by his healthcare provider," he said. "Obviously he is ill, but he is not in distress." Wilson said Kasem and his wife are "guests" where they were staying.

Deputies passed the information on to DSHS. "Our job is done," Wilson said.

I'm so glad that it sounds like he is ok. Hopefully all that he thinks is happening is that he is on a vacation to the beautiful Pacific Northwest! :peace:

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy ordered adult protective services and court investigators to try to locate Kasem after an attorney for his wife told the court that the former "Top 40" host was no longer in the United States but he did not know where he was.

So why the lie? And isn't it a crime for a lawyer to lie to the court? A lawyer is an officer of the court ie: works for the COURT and is not supposed to lie to them knowingly . So either he was not lying but believed what his client, Jean, said or he was.
This story is actually silly. You are adults. Tell the truth and none of this would be going on !
 
So he was smuggled out of his nursing home, at night, to "visit long time friends".

Bull. I'm not believing he is a willing participant.

Will the friends not be held accountable for hiding him? Will Jean not? I'm thankful he's okay, but I sincerely hope that Jean is made to make Casey available to his family and friends- should that be his desire.

Kitsap County sheriff's deputies performed a welfare check Tuesday at an address provided by California Adult Protective Services.

Authorities found Casey and his wife visiting others at a home. The couple told deputies they were on vacation.

After determining Casey was not in distress and was receiving appropriate care, the deputies left.

What if he wants to be where he is?

Is he going to be taken elsewhere because 'others' want to control him? The deputies didn't think there was a problem. The article didn't say he was taken into custody or removed from where he was located. Now that the kids know where he is maybe they will leave him alone. IMHO
 
He has dementia! Did they see him face to face? All this secrecy, keep-away and sneakiness is weird. If he's able to go on vacation, then why was he previously in a nursing home?

Anyway, I'm glad he has been "found" and hope the truth prevails for his best interests.
 
Jean was definately being sneaky. She released him from the nursing home overnight, after Casey's kids visited him that day. Why didn't she tell them at that time that she and Casey were going "on vacation"?

If they're in Kitsap county, there are some indian reservations there. I am willing to bet that they're staying with someone on a reservation, and that the lawyer knows of some precedent in California law that allows him to get away with saying they're "not in the US" because they are on sovereign land belonging to a tribe. That or they traveled to Vancouver first so what he said was factually true at the time.

If he is capable, without a doubt, of confirming he wants to be left alone with Jean- then he should be. After all the documentation I've read, I'm not convinced he isn't under duress.

I wonder if her attorney told her to play dumb (ha) and say they were "on vacation". Otherwise, who the heck didn't see the media storm?! Regardless other whether or not Casey wants to be estranged from his family and friends, she needs to be held accountable for her actions here. Honorable people aren't sneaky.

I agreed with your post until the last sentence. Knowing where he is, not being in distress and having appropriate medical care does not equate to wanting to be kept from his children.
