IMO, the reason the gas cans became an issue this week is because I don't think the Anthony's mentioned it. I think LE found that report recently and the Anthony's do what they did and explained it away. Now LE is trying to verify that explanation.

Have we determined that this the only other police report surrounding the Anthony's (aside from the obvious 911 calls)? What I'm getting at is why was a report made in this burglary of the gas cans? Seems to be very significant. Also, it doesn't seem like they were frequently involving the police i.e., making lots of trouble calls.

yes, i think this succinctly sums up the newfound interest in the gas cans.

i keep thinking about cindy's crazy bamboo answer and the shed - i think the anthonys' were covering up the fact that the gas cans could be tied to casey. they didn't actually think the gas cans were used for any foul play at the time; thus, they didn't want LE making any such connection.

It would be interesting to know what else was in that shed that wasn't stolen. It would point to whoever commited the theft only needed gas. I would have to think that a few power tools would be worth more than 50.00 at a pawn shop. It would be like stepping over dollars to pick up pennies.

We don't know. I would love to know that.

If she did take the cans... can that be used as a failsafe in the event that 33 days passes and she has to be released? Even if George declines to file charges?

There is still the theft of money/checks from Amy if the bank will follow thru.

My theory about why they reported it was because they suspected Casey and were already getting seriously fed up with her. She had a history of stealing gas too from them.

I wonder if there is a way to find out when exactly the POI's lawyer was really hired? All this odd phrasing (beginning with Myspace and 911 calls) sounds so off and odd, like in part rehearsed and perhaps said with some premeditation- like you would on the advice of counsel. :waitasec:

that's kind of what I was deliberating too.

I think George broke down yesterday morning and told the police that he lied about it being a neighbor. He suspected Casey. That's why they grabbed the cans to see if they can get her prints. plus anything off the bottom of the can like fibers from the trunk of her car.

Is there a way to search online for orlando/orange county police reports regarding a particular person (victim), location/neighborhood, timeframe, etc.?

I agree and want to add that I think he would "break down" BEFORE Cindy would. IMHO.

i agree 100%. just like the car. in my opinion, they didn't actually want their daughter arrested or anything, they wanted to teach her a lesson to deter her selfish, immature behavior in the future.

however, it's nice to know that the women of cell block 7 will be teaching her responsibility now...

i'm kidding (sort of).

This is a transcript, of a recent NG show, and it is about the Touch DNA findings in the Ramsey case, but there is a lot of information about what Touch DNA is:

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0807/09/ng.01.html

I think if they were getting toys and clothing, yesterday, they may have been looking for touch DNA, and that would mean they found DNA in the trunk stain and need an exemplar.

I know in Tampa there's a crimetracker with police reports from the news station. I think Orlando Sentinal might have something with police reports.

Has anyone read this? I just found it now.

The gas cans -- once believed to have been inside the trunk of Casey Anthony's car (who is the mother of missing Caylee) -- have already been scrutinized heavily by forensic technicians.

Is Grandpa lying? LE obviously doesn't think it was a neighbor. Maybe that's what came out during the meeting yesterday. That George lied about the gas cans and mystery solved. ANd that's why they went over there and grabbed the cans.
Yes, I did and thank you!! I am now wading through my thousands of posts to try to find the one I posted about it being a neighborhood kid. I WILL find it eventually after going through 30 some threads! GRRR! (I should have started a gasoline thread when I had a chance then!)

SS--I will look too and give you a hand. Hang in there!

maybe, but probably not. a police report, like an arrest, is often just an accusation. for example, you can't even use arrests in evidence during trial sometimes. they are often more prejudicial than probative...

which sucks.

If so, I wonder if Casey has knowledge of the above and might be starting to question further her family's support. Maybe this will evolve to her being more forthcoming in the facts surrounding Caylee's disappearance. Oh I hope.
