Aprilshowers, can you tell us which meds that you are taking?

Question to others familiar with procedures in jails:
Can Casey receive medical care and precriptions while in jail?

I'm taking Lexapro at the moment ... only 5 milligrams and it's worked wonders!

I've also received 'cognitive' therapy ... very important for Borderlines.

I bet he is thinking of the future here...um book deals....appearances on various talk shows. While he may or may not be getting anything at the moment his pay day will certainly come...I guarantee it:rolleyes:

I don't...I expect that sooner or later, Jose will have to bail - a case this high profile takes a **lot** of time and $$$$. A guy has to eat.

I have been inside of several county jails. no, i am a convict! many of the girls i have be-friended who are doing "county jail time", tell me they can't wait till they actually get into the state prison system, they have better food, chances at schooling themselves and more personal "contact" visits with loved ones. County jail is hard time to them.

Casey, is very isolated in that jail, and the pressure is building on her to talk.
She is going to start talking soon, maybe to a jail inmate. I really believe she is alone now, with no boyfriend, no parents and no brother and that we will be able to see how tough she really is by the length of time it takes her to talk.
I do not know anything about how hard jail is versus prision but I believe Casey will not do good in either. Afterall ...she would not be able o take her blue dress with her.

Yes, but getting her to take them is another matter. And I doubt she would. The court could always order her to be forcibly medicated if she's found imcompetent to stand trial, in order to make her competent to stand trial. But that bridge hasn't been crossed yet.

This is what's happening right now with Wanda Barzee in the Elizabeth Smart case.

We do know she said that she told the psychiatrist she felt Caylee was okay, and close to home.

For the record, she was given a psych eval. Psych evals are very easy to beat if you don't want to admit that you have a problem. I have taken so many, I don't even get nervous about them anymore. I personally have never lied during one, but after having taken so many, I can see how they would be easy to beat. Especially if Casey has ever taken one in the past.

It would be unconstitutional of her not. She's been interviewed with by a psychiatrist. I'm sure they have a diagnosis of her if she does indeed have mental health problems.

Just a quick FYI ... BPD is very hard to diagnose .. and VERY hard to treat!

Borderlines are VERY hard on therapists, don't trust them, try to impress them, sometimes flirt with them, etc.

If she goes to trial.... Court TV should NOT run it... or put a big DOT over her face so she can't feel she's getting so much attention.

As are psycho-therapists.

Yes, two of the bail holds is for the court ordered psychiatrists. Even if she posts bail, if she hasn't met with them enough to satisfy the court, she will not be released.

Public opinion of Casey is probably ZERO right now.

But . . .

What if Casey came out though and admitted this was an accident? Public opinion would change and you would then have a small group that would feel sympathy for her.

LE couldn't charge her with murder at this point. (I don't even think they can charge her anyhow . . . )

I wouldn't be surprised to see this scenario play out.

They could charge her with manslaughter, her life is over as she knew it either way, it's a felony, and she can't claim insanity no matter how f'd up she is , her actions will convict her. The fact that she tried to cover it up proves knowledge of wrong doing, which shoots any insanity defense all to he**!

I agree... and for her to admit a diagnosis and start taking meds would have an impact on her case...

I don't think she's doing that at all...

I'm sure she loves having someone come talk to her about how she's feeling though

Thanks to all that answered about psychiatric care in jail. I hope that she will take advantage of the help. I suggest that it would help her work with others regarding Caylee as well.

5 milligrams is not very much. I am glad that it is working. Apparently the therapy was very beneficial to you.
I have more questions. I will post those on the your other thread.
Thanks!

I think the answer to that lies in the same reason LE is not releasing the last few visits to the public that they fought for the ability to- I do expect there to be charges (add'l) in this case this week, and yes, SS I do think she will be implicating anyone she can
Could be.

I wonder if the cone of silence being maintained by her friends and frenemies will start to lift soon. Greta and Nancy need a fresh set of talking heads.

That's my understanding as well. A good therapist can spot that miles away, a bad one falls for it.

Don't you find it odd that her "best friend" (Kristina?) who had a prominent role in the 1st jail call we heard has *never* been interviewed or anything?

I think if she and the attorney decide to try to go with insanity, then she will suddenly be willing to take more meds than any of us have ever seen. It would back her defense. At this point, no, she is not going to admit that there is anything wrong with her.

I remember when they did that in the rape trial of one of the lesser Kennedy cousins.

It was bizarre.
