Charity Distances Itself From Anthonys; Shoe Donations

I think this is CA's feeble attempt at improving her public image. To answer your question, a toddler will walk in their brand newly used shoes and never know who Caylee was or what it might signify to walk in her shoes. An altruistic anonymous donation would ensure that but Cindy hasn't an altruistic cell in her soul. Hence the press alert.
I'm actually glad Cindy has begun to dismantle the Caylee shrine. It's a very healthy thing for her to let go. A few pairs of Caylees shoes seems odd though considering the amount of material possessions Caylee owned. Even if Caylee were alive and to walk in the A's door with imaginanny today, she wouldn't fit any of the clothes or shoes Cindy is hoarding.
So yes it's very nice for Cindy to open her eyes and heart to children in need. It's like putting a dime in the collection plate with your pockets full IMO though. But I guess Cindy needs the murdered childs clothing more than children in need do. Plus, by hoarding most of it, she can donate more the next time she wants press coverage.

I pitty the charity organizers who work tiredlessly on an event only to have it crashed by Cindy and her media circus.

It would be mentally good for her to do so but I just feel there is this method to CA's madness...she too needs that attention. When all is quiet she finds a way to email the media to bring attention to herself. I'll bet a dollar to a donut, the media will show up at this charity site and once again, the attention gets off this charity and onto the Anthonys. She may be trying to revamp her image but I don't see her ever making it as a "true" crime victms advocate until she starts being Caylee's voice. JMHO

I have long felt Caylee would have a very hard time growing up to be a normal little girl, raised as a pawn between to woman who had lost all sense of propriety. Raised around a grandfather who had forgotten or never knew what it meant to be the man of the house. I won't say she is better off, as some people manage to rise above terrible childhoods.

When I tested for my black belt I wore 2 red belts, one mine, and one that belonged to a friend who had a heart attack and never got to test for the black. I'd like to say, I will walk in Caylee's shoes, but I have no idea where her life would have taken her, but I will always think the best for her, and will hold her as having risen above, become a Doctor, or a Lawyer, or an Indian Chief, and gone on to a wonderful life serving us all.

A pair of shoes that belonged to Caylee Anthony will be donated to help less-fortunate children, her grandmother said.

Cindy Anthony, Caylee's grandmother, e-mailed Local 6 News on Tuesday saying she will give the shoes to the nonprofit group ChildrenOfLove.org, which serves less-fortunate children.

Um, I am confused. Are the less fortunate children going to share the shoes? One pair of shoes is not exactly a shining example of a charitable, giving heart. I drop trunkloads of things off at the Goodwill several times a year. Never put out a press release about it though.

I am not going to try to read motives into this action because giving something that means a lot to you (and I have no doubt that everything that belonged to Caylee is precious to Cindy) to the needy is to be commended. I donated clothes yesterday. I did not, however, email the media to let them know. And in lieu of the fact that your daughter's attorney is complaining that there is too much media coverage about KC it appears CA did not get that memo....... jmo

The organization has such a FANTASTIC mission....if I were in Fla I'd love to donate my time and anything else to help. I'm sure some little girls mom could use my shoes, as well. Most of us have shoes tucked away in some corner of our closets that we've NEVER even worn.
BUT....why in the world would CA even have the notion to donate CAYLEE'S shoes??? First of all, by emailing a news station and telling them this, is what I consider "tooting her own horn".....by announcing the shoes are actually CAYLEE"S is inviting a media circus - yep, it'll get people aware to the foundations mission....but, it's gonna bring out all crazy over the top people who couldn't give a rats behind about what the organization is all about. Why didn't she just go ahead and auction them off on EBay??? THAT'S the type of sensationalism this will only bring!!
I KNOW some beautiful, little girl in Honduras doesn't know who Caylee was, but you can almost be certain she WILL once the media catches wind of it in Honduras....IMO.
Why not just buy some beautiful new shoes like Caylee would have loved to wear and donate them in Caylee's name????

The act of giving to needy children is commendable (however small ~ one pair?). I don't think anyone on this earth would be critical of true generosity ~ It's Cindy's motives that are questionable. And with good reason, IMO.

I'm wondering if the church collecting the shoes isn't the one CA and GA say they go to and they're responding to a call from the pulpit to donate. They just needed to one up the rest of the congregation.

When someone does something humbley, it seems to be more from the heart and soul. To announce what you are going to do, seems to be for the attention and not doing something heartfelt, JMHO

There was no real need to blurt this out to the media unless of course, there is an ulterior motive...CA loves the attention, negative or positive, doesn't matter to her, as long as she gets those "cameos" in...JMHO

Its really ashame I dont feel that great feeling when you know somebody did something nice for the needy. She just cant soften her razor edge personality and her motives have always had nasty hidden in the shadows. I just cant get past the woman we have all come to know...IMO

I also just wanted to add that, even though my feelings for CA are that of....lets just say "far less than affectionate".....
IMO, this seems like a much better area for her to take part in....sans donating Caylee's own shoes, as I see it.

Maybe they should shy away from a "kid finders" "missing children" type of organization...definitely a bit ludicrous, being their daughter is accused of murdering their grand daughter.

Start a foundation in Caylee's name that is centered around helping poverty stricken families....right HERE, in the US of A !!!! Caylee was more than taken care of by her family...I think she didn't want for anything!! (Sorry...not meaning to offend, but I am of the belief that there exists such poverty in THIS country, sometimes we forget about that).
Used/new clothing...toys...school supplies....food, etc. Yes, these foundations already DO exist...but, so also does many other types of missing children organizations.

AGAIN....NOT donating items of Caylee's and sending emails to the media about it.

She invited us to read into her motives though when she sent the media a personal email and not a flyer for the event. Like you said, Caylee had a wealth of beautiful material things that could bring joy and comfort to many in need. A pair of shoes is a start, but not newsworthy.

Shoes are being collected at the Lutheran Church. Cindy is attending the other event intended to raise money to send the shoes. Why is she attending with shoes then except to create a media event?

If she was motivated by empathy or concern for impoversished children she'd donate all the shoes IMO.

I dont think I would be able to give up even one pair if it was me I have boxfuls of my kids' things from babyhood etc and they're living children, if I lost one I dont think I could bear to lose another little piece
