I believe we will have a verdict by the end of the day Monday. I'd love it earlier, but I think Monday is D Day for JA.
Beach, I kind of wish they didn't have the weekend to go home with their own thoughts and a chance to lose the zing of Juan's last words.

17 Is Ponytail as we know her. According to court reporters, she's been picking at her fingernails and split ends for 3 months. She's the one I hoped stayed. I'm glad the Elderly Man is gone though. Society was very different when he was young...

ummmmm may I ask what you consider elderly??

Remarkable that they didn't want to stay longer. Maybe they're wiped.

Its been a long day. I am sure they want to be alert and rested.

All they had time to do is select a Foreperson and agree on the schedule.

IMO

NAH. My DH and DS freakin hate Jodi. I think most men do. Men take it very personally the way Travis was slaughtered by her and then his reputation trashed by the defense team.

Men are going to be LESS swayed that he was a pedophile just because he liked anal or liked his gf to wear braids and schoolgirl outfits. They are going to be less upset about anything Travis said on that sex tape, and more outraged that she probably set him up and secretly taped him. And they are going to be really angry that Nurmi tried to call it a sexual assault that TA woke his girlfriend up by initiating sex while she was still asleep, next to him in bed. It is not like it was a drunken stranger at a party.

I am thrilled there are 8 men, and 4 women. Men are going to be outraged that she accused Travis of being a pedophile. JMO

I get the same read too that men in general are more repulsed than women by JA, so I'm not worried about the make-up of the jury.

In situations like this, I tend to think that men approach more with logic while women might get confused if they use empathy. None, none, none of JA's story is logical.

My guess is that there will be a verdict on Monday.

Why is JVM continually yelling at me with a microphone? :banghead::runaway:

Defense is over. Mr. Martinez is wrapping it up for us.

Just want to say we're so proud of our members today. I know it hasn't been easy, so thank you all so much!

Before we close up....

I wanted to :bump: SoSueMe's post and add my own personal thanks! You guys were amazing! Thank you so much for you dedication to the Alexander family, your input here at WS and for having mercy on the mods! lol

We love you all! Thanks again

Finally caught up .....Thanks so much to everyone on this site for your compassion & want for justice for Travis.

I trust the jury will do the right thing....Sir Juan Rocked....just fantastic closing & work throughout the trial.

I don't post much but so rely on this website in following cases. Thanks again

My husband asked me last night if she should be killed in exact manner as Travis & she deserves no better.... the jury must know this

If it's like other trials I've followed, she'll wait in jail. The Judge will call her back to the courthouse when the jury has reached a verdict or when/if the jury asks for clarification or to see evidence.
Actually I believe she will stay in a cell in the courthouse until a verdict is reached. Not sure if that begins tonight or on Monday when the jurors reconvene.

I already have and I stand by what I said. It can only be inferred from her answer - "that's the only visible injury" - that she sustained the injury while STABBING Travis. She did not directly state that. The finger could have been damaged by other mean during the killing. Regardless, she did not state, "I sustained the injury while stabbing Travis". She said it was the only visible injury of hers that came from the killing of Travis.

What else could you infer from that? She stabbed him. With a knife. She injured/cut her finger.

I don't understand why this is a point of contention.

Yes, we can infer that, but there was still no need for Juan to state it as a fact -- i.e that Jodi said she incurred the injury while stabbing Travis. She did not say that directly, just that her ring finger injury is the only visible injury from June 4th.

Hmm...let's see:

  • Jodi's blood mixed with Travis' blood formed her palm print on the wall
  • Jodi had an incised injury to her left ring finger which she showed Det. Flores and attributed to the Ninja Woman's knife
  • She told ALV she cut that finger cutting apples
  • She told the jury she cut that finger on broken glass on June 4th, 2008 at Travis' home
  • She stabbed and knifed Travis to death and is left handed (primarily)

If you are unable to "make the connection" I really believe you only post things to aggravate, agitate and to gain attention. JMO

Argh on HLN they keep talking about the pics of the back (Travis standing in shower) that Nurmi showed. I wish Juan would have gone over this again, I don't remember him addressing it after Nurmi. I don't get what the big deal is that HLN thinks...I mean she knew a) if she stabbed him in the back it probably wouldn't be fatal and b) he could turn around and possibly overpower her since he's standing...just wrestle with her and knock her down and escape. She was NOT GOING TO TAKE THAT CHANCE. What is the big deal HLN, with all your "experts" you guys can't figure that out? Esp. Travis who seemed to have a muscular back (after all he was a wrestler as Jodi so often mentioned)...so that means the knife would mostly be going thru muscle first, meaning it would be less effective in terms of killing him which is what she wanted. Seems obvious to me that the stab near his heart IS MUCH MORE FATAL.

I know, seriously. If she tried to stab him in his muscular back it would have done very little damage with the first stab, and by then he would have turned around in anger and probably overpowered her. He would have been standing up. And so it would have been a very bad move on her part. JMO

Wild About Trial ‏@WildAboutTrial 4m

Jury is going home for the day. Heading back to the office now. Oh Beth confirmed her lovely dresses are by Elie Tahari. See you guys later!

If you go way back in the court Minute Entries when that was being acted on, DT also said JA would NOT admit remorse since she was claiming self defense.... why you never heard SORRY.

That and, incredible as it sounds, there are just some things she refuses to lie about.

Remarkable that they didn't want to stay longer. Maybe they're wiped.
I wouldn't want to either. It's the weekend...who wants to sit around and discuss JA when they are all possibly burned out on the whole thing? Monday is a good time for a fresh start.
