Wow! I hope his girlfriend realizes that she dodged a bullet with this killer. He’s bad news every which way. She would have been a source of income for a while IMO. Then what? I shudder to think…

If a dental practice can potentially lose $120,000/month, how much does it actually cost to run one? What could he have done so wrong to be losing that much every month? Or is it actually difficult to earn a good profit with your own dental practice? It just seems like with that kind of loss, the backstory must have more to it, or?

Yes, those numbers were staggering to me. All of them.

All MOO here-- What I meant to point out is that in so many of these similar cases, there's a new mistress. That's the Common Denominator. James couldn't wait to have his mistress fly in while he was so busy poisoning his wife. I don't know, it almost seems like the lust takes over. I'm also thinking of Chris Coleman, Chris Watts, Martin MacNeill, and so many other cases where the husband had a mistress and decided to kill.
Agreed. I have no pity for these people (alleged killers and convicted killers) they don't do what is needed as an adult when it's time to move on, they kill and replace, or replace and kill. It's beyond what most of us comprehend. However, imo, these people truly think no one will notice, their crime will go without punishment and I believe there are many out there that do. There are some cases that get more media attention than others.

Obviously speculation, imo

The family of an Aurora woman, whose dentist husband is accused of slowly poisoning her, set up a Monday to raise money for the couple's six children who have "...lost their mother and their father in a recent tragic event that has shocked and saddened us all," according to the webpage.

James Craig, 45, was arrested and formally charged with Angela Craig's murder by 18th Judicial District Attorney John Kellner last week.

Angela Pray Craig, 43, died March 18 three days after she was rushed to the hospital complaining of a severe headache and dizziness. According to the 52-page arrest affidavit, her brother Mark Pray drove her to University Hospital March 15 at around 11 a.m. That afternoon, Mrs. Craig suffered a seizure and never recovered, investigators said.

According to the affidavit, James Craig's dental practice partner pulled a nurse aside at that time and asked the hospital to check for Potassium Cyanide.

BBM.

Good comment, and the bolded especially reminds of Kelsey Berreth and one of the infamous lines of P Frazee, who was genuinely bemused at the attention drawn by her vanishing, and wondered (paraphrasing) why so many people cared about a missing mum from Colorado?

They don't care, so why should anyone else?

The emotional disconnect is mystifying, but it's real.

#CrimeStories with Nancy Grace: Did ‘Porny’ Mormon Dentist Charged With Poisoning Wife Dead TRICK CHURCH MEMBERS?

As a Colorado dentist faces murder charges connected to the poisoning death of his wife, new information shows James Craig asked his church for help in cleaning his basement, while his wife lay dying in the hospital.

I am at a loss to understand those figures. Dental practices vary, but most owners do well-very well. The only explanation I can offer for that sort of loss each month is the practice having enormous loans. Such loans would, (obviously), be much greater than any dental practice could support, and I can't think of what they could be for? (Large equipment is expensive, but it's normally paid off over several years, and 120K/month is just not in a small-medium practice reality) I think there will be interesting news about money in this case, if this figure is correct.

On another note-I thought he had sold the practice recently?

According to this clip of the NG interview , he was doing ok and had his million dollar house paid off in 2019. Then he invested in high risk cryptocurrency and it went belly up.
He ended up , if I heard correctly, 10 Million in debt !!! And filed for personal and business bankruptcy.
This guy is such a loser, and now a murderer.

A lot of medical equipment is leased these days and not purchased, so yeah that level of business loss per month is astounding! Was he running personal expenses through his business? Were there huge gifts, entertainment and travel expenses going out? Was he paying a lawsuit? It's hard to imagine what was going so horribly wrong.

IMO if an outlet violates the court orders for decorum/media allowances, then they should fine or ban that specific outlet. Feels like it’s used as an excuse to throw out all media. The public has a right to observe court proceedings. IMO significant public interest in certain cases should be a reason why the right for public observance is important, not an excuse for exception to that observance. I think a defendant’s right to a fair trial is incredibly important, but I think too often that is used an excuse to decrease the transparency of proceedings. Jury selection happens for a reason and I think people serving on a jury take their instructions seriously to avoid media coverage of a trial.
