Hoping to hear from Ransom soon.

Me too.

Just so y'all know - there may be some questions that Ransom will not be able to answer, so please respect that if Ransom doesn't respond to specific questions or just says, "I can't answer that. Sorry." Very, very often searchers are told some specific info that they are asked to not release publicly. It is not always "highly confidential" stuff known only to LE, but things necessary for the searchers to know yet LE prefers to keep under wraps as best they can from the masses at large in high profile cases. It is to protect the intergrity of the investigation. At Websleuths, we ALWAYS err on the side of protecting the investigation and we wouldn't want anything released that LE preferred we not discuss here.

I imagine Ransom is one tired person tonight.

Mark Redwine, second from left, discusses the area he and the volunteers in his group will be covering Saturday morning on County Road 240 near Edgemont Ranch.

A number of Redwine family members, including Mark and Elaine Redwine; Dylan’s brother, Cory; and family friends helped with Saturday’s efforts.

“We’re glad to have them out here,” Phippen said.

They were among the 300 who signed up in advance, as well as the nearly 100 or so volunteering from a variety of groups and agencies, some in support functions, Phippen said.

When Dylan was first reported missing, authorities thought “he may have walked or run away,” Phippen said. But after a few days, it was clear something was very wrong, and the investigation became more intense.

and

Phippen said all of the local registered sex offenders had been checked out and had alibis for the 48-hour period from when Dylan arrived at the airport to the time he was reported missing.

Phippen wanted to reassure residents that the Sheriff’s Office “does not believe there is a sex offender abducting children” from the area.

Spokeo has Mark redwinw listed living in bayfield.

go to this map and read the listing on the right it says the property was transfered to Mark 2012

Is this the one where the fire took place? Or where Elaine lived before she moved? Am also curious if this was searched. So is this three properties then? Mark's current, their former where the fire occured, and then Elaikne's place?

Someone mentioned a vacation cabin? Is that fact or hearsay?

I don't remember ever seeing the parents actually going out into the fields with the search teams. Usually they make them stay and work in the command center or give out the water or help with the phones.

I don't have a problem with it, but it seems unusual, because I wouldnt think they would want a parent or sibling to personally come upon the remains. :rose:

WEll, that is a good thing. But plenty of UNREGISTERED sex offenders are out and about. And plenty of sickos who have never been caught.

I still wonder who was in charge of the property For Sale across the street from Dylan. Plenty of people look up houses for sale and then drive around and look at them. Makes me wonder if someone was out there poking around that morning.

You are correct. This was a local search and not exactly sure who coordinated it. I know Marc Klaas strongly discourages (I hesitate to use the word 'forbid', but...) immediate family from particpating in the searches for exactly the reason you state (a family member discovering remains of their loved one). As expected, family almost always WANTS to help so Marc gives them other tasks that are also very important e.g., help with registrations, etc... more administrative type duties.

from the article:
By about noon, 10 items of interest had been identified by searchers and were being reviewed, Phippen said. None of the items was considered of “substantial value,” he said.

:sigh:

Another typo? Wasn't it more like 24 hours, not 48? :waitasec:

I remember the Rodriguez case, sorry I can't think of the little girls name...it was probably 2 years ago, solved very quickly, the neighbor a couple doors down strangled her, her parents were allowed on the search. Maybe it depends on the the local dept., different policies, FBI, parents...??? It seems to be more prevalent for parents not to search. Does anyone know?

I am thinking they checked alibis for Sunday night and Monday day and night.

They might check Sunday night, because maybe dad just thought he saw a sleeping boy on Monday. Maybe someone had broken in already that night. ?

I think they would just check them out for a 48 hour period out of erring on the side of caution.

My guess about the address is that it is listed as Bayfield because Vallecito does not have it's own post office. I see this a lot in my area, out of towners are always confused by it.

Breeann. Poor sweet baby. And I feel badly because I suspected the mom of possibly harming her. Sorry mom. :rose:

I remember someone said a cabin also.

Remember Marks father said something like we are going to STAY here because Dylan will return here and we were like was he moving? There are other residences so it seems.

"In addition to advising on the investigation, Phippen said the FBI provided two victim specialists to help the family cope with the situation."

from the same article up thread

This IMO is a very important must-do regardless of who is responsible..especially given the fact that from all that we have been told this young teen was extremely involved in multiple facets of social media via internet and all electronic communication..

I know by far and wide the majority of recent cases of teens, young adults especially that this is a key piece of evidence that LE lunge for pretty much right off the bat, if for no other reason than to get a better idea of what his recent state of mind, attitude, and social patterns had been leading up to his disappearance..

And then just as you mention above for the other obvious reasons of seeing who he was communicating with..was there someone questionable, older, anything at all that may stand out to investigators...

Needless to say IMO this type of searching of Dylans online presence, communications, etc are all IMO extremely relevant and important to go through..

Oh shefner this story made me chuckle and tense up all at the same time in trying to imagine myself in this situation.. Oh Lordy I guess it's as they all say that the good Lord won't give you more than you can handle, deal with, and survive..lol..but my having my son at the young age of 21 I am so very greatful that the good Lord realized I just wasn't up for such trials and tribulations as the above situation you perfectly described for us..

Now, let me be clear that instead I have found that while my son was truly an angel in every sense of the word, and easy-peasy thru all of the infant, toddler, and young child stages as he was growing up.. But somehow I always knew in the back of my head that at some point I'd be faced with a difficult, strong willed teen in my reaping what I sowed in giving my own momma Hell thru my teen years.. And thus here we are.. Him now fully into the teen years, but yet still several teen years yet to go and stubborn as all get out...whew!..somehow we'll survive tho, on certain days I'm not so certain it will be BOTH that survive his teen years ..lol..j/k.

And now I am taking that hard turn and veering back ON TOPIC..my apologies for the slightly off road course I temporarily just detoured us on..lol

I know a couple were of the opinion that they thought possibly they were seeing puffiness, pink, or red face in the grainy pic...but IMO MOST were not of that opinion, but rather realized the poor quality of the image rendered it useless as far as gleaning specific details of Dylan's appearance..

And that it was what it was and served it's purpose in establishing a documentable timeline for LE of that nights movements, along with giving a thorough and accurate description of what he was last confirmed to be wearing...jmo.

This IMO is FACT as far as I'm concerned..lol..no lie over the years irregardless of what model cell phone, or what carrier I was with, the one place that I found my cell phone to be unreliable was inside our local Super Walmart .. your now bringing this up as well and I know you and I are not even near neighbors as far as what region of the country we live(at least I don't think we live near one another ..lol..even tho at the moment I'm drawing a blank on what region of the country your in, or if I even have ever known that info..lol)..

anyhoo point is I see I'm not the only one who can count on not having service inside my Super Walmart..

You will survive, smooth....and live to tell the tale! LOL

I wish Tim Miller with Texas Equusearch would get called in on this case soon. I am very worried about the temps dropping and freezing can cause a lot of delays... Time is of the essence in this case, considering the remote location. Worries me greatly.

I referred to it as a cabin a few times because it looks like one and is in the mountains and tourist area. But I didnt mean it wasn't his primary residence.
