Circumstances of death

This middle-aged African American female checked in to a local motel on 06/27/11 and arrived there by taxi. She paid for a room in cash through 07/11/11. It was later found that she had stayed at other local motels in the area, always taking a taxi, paying in cash, and giving false and different names. She told the Motel 9 that her name was Sandra Nelson, of 5203 Bosa Ave., Park City, UT. This was later found to be a non-existent address and false name. She also stated that she was originally from Los Angeles and was looking for a house in this area. On 07/11/11, she did not show up for breakfast as had been her custom. Since it was her last paid day, staff assumed she had checked out. They entered her room with a master key and found her deceased on the bed with pills at her feet and a bright blue, granular purging coming from her nose and mouth. There was no suicide note but autopsy results showed a massive overdose of multiple medications. All attempts to identify the decedent have failed.

That is a strange street name.

I did find a Bosa Avenue in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma but only one listing on that street, and it is "Paul's Valley Community Center"

I was thinking the same thing, DM! Paul's Valley is apparently a city in OK (pop ~6500). The Bosa Indoor Swimming Pool is also there (the paulsvalley.com site had so many flash panels it was making my computer twitch so it was hard to navigate). There's also a banquet hall on Bosa Ave http://www.bosabanquethall.net

There are also a donut chain in AZ called "Bosa." Perhaps this woman was a fan (or could smell donuts at the hotel - she was pretty big on breakfast, after all, according to the staff).

Her book choice was interesting, too.

Amazon says: Longtime political analyst and commentator Tod Lindberg goes beyond punditry to address how Jesus's words and teachings—once a radical set of ideas—have come to define our concept of government and our vision for society. A little older than the Namus estimate...Think she would have been 78 in 2011..But surely worth a look...

Marilyne Chamberlain...Worked for the Federal Government..disappeared in 1998 at age 65..Last known to have gone to the Federal Credit Union at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She conducted a transaction at the credit union and then proceeded to pay a bill at a Sears and Roebuck store. Possible last sited on metro subway...Wore glasses..possible two upper molars missing

There are only 3 ruleouts for this UID. Joyce McCollum has been ruled out twice, according to NAMUS. The other 2 ruleouts are Bobbie McDowell and Sandra Welton.

This Ohio MP caught my attention: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/10560/17/ . Her name is Maebelle Dawson. Her hair is styled in soft waves and she is wearing glasses. She disappeared in 1998. Height in range, but the MP weighs less than the UID. At a complete loss to explain time gap between 1998 and 2011.

This lady also caught my attention because there is almost nothing posted about her and she is not listed in the Missouri state MP site. She is not in NAMUS, either. Her name is Catherine Jackson. Ms. Jackson disappeared from Missouri in 2002 at the age of 44. No height, no weight, no DNA, no FP, no dental is listed. Ms. Jackson appears to have the same face shape and high cheekbones that the UID has, though.

No PM photos on Namus.Maybe a phone call to the coroner/ ME office is in order?

I am trying to imagine a scenario that brought her to this point: Maybe happily married, husband dies after long illness and medical bills,, she sells the house and most of the furnishings and moves into an apartment with small proceeds from the sale. Frugal and careful with her money, she gives up the apartment when money eventually starts to runs low, tells her friends she is going to move "elsewhere" to live (with relatives, for different climate to help her health, whatever). As she gets more and more health problems, begins walking with cane, etc., does not want "to be a burden", moves into hotel in a different city to live while carefully calculating the exact number of days she can still afford to pay for her hotel room. There are many sad stories on WS, but this UID ,especially, brings me to tears.

Probably a bit of a stretch but Marlene Robinson? https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/2645/

Had no contact with family since 2001 but was last known alive in 2002. Age fits, both wore glasses. Height and some facial features are a little off though, and it's quite a distance to travel.

Yes, quite a distance, but in nine years, she could have wandered almost anywhere. And it sounds like the decedent had been drifting for some time. Very little is known about her circumstances, which seems to kind of fit as well. The facial features seem pretty similar to me.

She has pages at Charley http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/robinson_marlene.html and Doenet http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/3389dfva.html
