Lol, "not speaking today." I've always had the impression that judge Werner hates her as much as we do. I wonder how he responded.
I was watching on WebEx and Judge started the hearing by saying that they left off with Defense request for EEG at last hearing. LS lawyer Tolini said actually we would like to withdraw our Motion to have evaluation done at the State Hospital.
Judge addressed LS and asked her if she understood and agreed with her lawyer.
LS mumbled and the Judge said he couldn’t understand her.
Tolini said “ she said she’s not answering questions today.”

So she didn't speak at all. Just mumbled. Probably a mouth full of toilet paper.

Wow, what a blast from the past! Watching the old back-of-the-head interview... I forgot about Gannon's bio mom staying at the house, effectively evicting LS from her own home. And sheesh, even back then LS was complaining about her Constitutional Rights being violated. Like @cocomod said, always the victim.

So she wanted a bench trial?
Yes, they filed a Motion to waive a jury trial back in February when she changed her plea to insanity.
It hadn’t really come up again with all the mental health evaluation issues. Today DA Michael Allen reminded the Judge about it after they set a trial date.

However, the defense filed a motion asking to waive a jury trial citing concerns over the massive amount of pre-trial publicity and the ability to find a fair jury pool.
The prosecution said they're not consenting to that at this time. District Attorney Michael Allen said he wanted to see the results of the evaluation first and said the motion was "premature."
Werner said he would not make a decision Friday and said he may not be able to rule on that until they get to jury selection.

No doubt she doesn't think common jurors are going to understand the Constitution to the degree that, she -- Dr. S -- master of jurisprudence -- does. But the judge, he might. No doubt he'll be getting another letter soon, about the newest (imaginary) violations of her Constitutional rights.

Likely she thinks the judge likes her.

I like to think he likes justice.

March, 2023 can't come soon enough.

May T get full justice. LWOP for what she's done.

Then we can be done with her.

COLORADO SPRINGS — The judge overseeing the case of Letecia Stauch has set a trial date of March 2023. The trial date was set after the court heard the defense has withdrawn a request for a medical exam at the state mental hospital in Pueblo, and will instead have a defense-retained expert conduct testing at the El Paso County Jail by December.

The move to a spring trial date means there are other new hearing dates in this case. The deadline for all motions to be filed will be the week before Christmas with those motions being considered in February.

Today's setting of a trial date should not be considered the final word in scheduling, as the court has seen many reschedulings amid twists, turns, requests, and refusals from the defendant since her arrest in March 2020.

Letecia Stauch is accused of killing her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon Stauch, in 2020. She was in the courtroom today for the hearing and informed the judge she would not be answering any questions, according to her defense counsel.

How is it possible that she stretched waiting for a trial for nearly 3 years and STILL medical examinations are not completed? o_O
This latest upcoming evaluation was ordered due to her changing her plea from “ not guilty “ to “ not guilty by reason of insanity “ in February of this year.
Such evals are done at the State Hospital in Pueblo and they’ve had a long waiting list due to short staffing.
Not to mention her Defense team asking the Court for all kinds of conditions for the testing.
Looks like they withdrew their Motion today to have it at Pueblo so perhaps it will finally really get done.

EBM to add that I left out the fact that she has already had one evaluation done since February and results found her not insane.
So this upcoming evaluation is the Defense response to that one — they want their own experts to perform this one.

This judge must have a headache from rolling his eyes so far back in his head at this woman. She is unbelievable. The princess will not be answering any questions today. Dear God, I can't wait to see her sent to prison and then forget all about her.
