We've been told by LE this is a very, very, very large puzzle. Not uncomplicated and LE has been asking for every type of tip imaginable repeatedly.

The disappearance of Gannon Stauch: A timeline of the case
I think it’s that 4 hour trip that’s making this complicated. The key is figuring out exactly where she went.

Fill in that gap, and you’re likely to find Gannon.

I think that’s why we saw that week long search 40 miles from their house. Something or someone put that red pickup in the area during that timeframe.

Thanks, I know they "share custody" in that the mother sees the kids sometimes and they stay with her, but, as I pointed out, that could mean about 10 different things. And we certainly don't know if it "works for them." Which is what the OP said (paraphrasing). One or both may be quite not ok with the arrangement and we don't even know if it's voluntary.

The second website is a wordpress account. Not msm.
That was me, and I misspoke. I don't know that it works for them. From all I have seen and read, they are working with the arrangement.

And lets just no worry about the whole gate thing...really? How many people lock their back gate? Is it in a neighborhood where people would find access to the house via a back gate? If the robber was that set on breaking in they would just hop the fence...it's not like the gate was an entrance into the house. Sorry to be so sarcastic but this whole gate thing is just crazy...LS simply mentioned it to lay the ground work for one of her lies or misdirections...that's it.
We have padlocks on our gates in case they don’t latch good and the wind comes up. Don’t want my dogs to get out. We have extremely high winds here at times. My neighbors do the same. JME

So the padlock is on the inside of the gate? And where do you keep the key? In the lock or elsewhere? Sorry to be nosey, I'm just curious now.

I just can’t get over how weird this case is.

Parents and stepparents kill their kids, that happens. Typically though, it’s during an act of abuse.

Say she did kill Gannon to cover up an act of abuse (which I believe), it’s still a very strange way to go about doing that.

You’d expect her to do that in her home, and then transport and dump his body (perhaps under the cover of darkness). That’s not what happened though, as he left that home alive.

So in broad daylight she takes Gannon somewhere, and then likely does something that leads to his death.

I’ve seen people stage an accident, like a guy who threw his wife and son of a cliff. But I’ve never heard of anything like this.

It’s as idiotic as it is cruel. I just don’t know what to make of it.

My first time posting and not 100% sure of the rules. I know you tube isn’t allowed to be discussed, but can I let you know of a certain interview to see for yourselves (tell the name of video for those who want to search on their own)? I know we can’t discuss what it states here, but I learned so much from it concerning this case. We truly don’t really know much at all for a fact right now, and after hearing it I feel like I know much more.
Like all of you I’m heartbroken for Gannon, his parents and siblings. <modsnip: that video is off limits here at this time> I cannot remotely fathom their pain. Heart wrenching in the true definition of the word. So glad to have found this space. I love how it’s 99.9% respectable conversations. You’re good people!

JMO and a guess and a nagging thought, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was more than one vehicle involved during that time. This is what happens to me when I don't get any real facts.

Not nosy. Lock is on outside of gates, key stays in the house. Bought the house 22 years ago and back then they had meter readers come around on foot. Without locks, they could just stroll in and out and maybe not shut the gate good. So it started as safety for my dogs.

I'm going out on a limb here and etch into stone that AS sees exactly what we see. There hasn't been one ounce of husbandly support from him and as someone said above, perhaps GS had started telling Dad that he was having a problem with TS in some way. Afterall, if GS and AS built TS a planter as she said, Dad and Son had a "working relationship" where with courage, GS could tell Dad something was wrong. By no means does this mean that initially Dad believed him! We big people have a tendency to say, "that can't be." But what might have hit AS square in between the eyes was when GS disappeared and TS started talking and explaining. Perhaps that's when Dad fully understood what Gannon had been trying to tell him and it became clear as a ringing bell to him as to what Gannon meant and couldn't fully explanation as an 11 year old.

MOO, MOO

from an early article...."Stauch added that within a few hours of Gannon leaving, his wife knew something was wrong. He also reportedly said the boy didn’t tell his stepmother which friend’s house he was going to." At this point, sounds to me , Al trusted SM's version. He didn't say...my wife says.....It sounds like she strongly and convincingly told Al she "sensed" something was wrong and he trusted her. I imagine that is why such a visceral response when confronted with the video.

In regards to Gannon AS stated..."He’s just kind and tenderhearted… Hoping we can find him soon,” I thought it was especially "sensitive' that he would recognize his young son as 'tenderhearted".

I suppose that'd be traffic cams, private surveillance cams, GPS & cell data.
Those things together paint an incredibly accurate picture in many many cases these days.

I get sucked in on a lot of them but this is worse than bad. Lol

Here's where I get way down the rabbit hole. I swear he had a backpack when they left. What did she tell him to pack? Where did he think he was going? Ugh. Makes me sick.

Yeah. There is absolutely no other logical reason for searching an area 40 miles away, and doing it that painstakingly (sifting snow).

They had a great deal of manpower, and spent about a week there.

Whatever led them there, it just has to be strong.

Thank you! I see now. In my area (houses are 100+ years old) most of the side or back entries to houses are behind the backyard gates. And during the winter many people use the side or back entries so it wouldn't be practical to put a padlock on the gate when you would come & go through there frequently.

I think it's been mentioned, but looking back I couldn't find it. How old is Gannon's little sister? Both sisters would have A LOT of potentially valuable info/details to aid in the investigation (IMO), just not sure how cooperative older SS would be or if she's had a lot of coaching. So just trying to think about how much younger sis would notice, comprehend, and question.

You know what?
Ever since the beginning when I was fantasizing that Gannon, being a little boy, had escape routes from the garden and I was told that it was heavily fenced in and not possible, I realise I never actually saw a photograph of the back garden at all, like never?
Did anybody?
I have a feeling, based on nothing at all that it might be significant??

My yard is gated mainly for my dogs and children but beyond the gate is very heavily wooded area. I'm curious what is on the other side or their yard or is it just another yard for a home around the corner. There has to be some sort of reason why she mentioned the gate, she is backing herself up for something that could of been found. I remeber with Caylee Anthony, cadaver dogs were hitting in the yard in a few spots including her playhouse. Did dogs hit on something at GS house?
