I watched the BD's actions several times, and couldn't figure out what was so strange about him, but yes. I'm still trying to figure it out.

A parent's primary responsibility is to protect their kid. Period.

That is Job #1.

Inviting a wolf to live amongst your lambs is not doing your job.

I see one victim in this case.

Only one.

His name is Gannon.

JMO.

The camera talk...our ring only goes off when people cross over the line from sidewalk to driveway. When we first got it we had it set on the road and went insane with it going off every time a car passed. But it seems people DO record their streets with a Ring? Do you all? I’d love to be more helpful when people ask “did anybody else catch this car on their cameras?” But again, I don’t want it going off all day long

Speculation about the dad's demeanor/behavior, just my opinion: Lots of fraught history between Gannon's mom, the stepmom and his dad, that likely goes back a while. She also has a violent criminal history. Dad may be consumed with guilt as to how his romantic decisions have played out regarding his son.
Yes, I have to kind of roll my eyes whenever I read that everything was the SM's fault in the romantic decision-making department.

Forgive me asking if this has been addressed and I missed it, but did the stepmom give any reasoning in her story for allowing a child to go to a friend’s house when he had stayed home sick from school that day?
I was thinking the same thing! When my kids are home sick from school they are not allowed to go anywhere. It seems odd to me. I haven't seen anyone talk about this...

Just an FYI- there may be some undercarriage, strut, differential, transfer case, oil pan, etc damage if she took it too far "off road". 4x4 big 4 door trucks are meant for towing, not for off road, no matter what a commercial shows- no matter if you add a leveling kit or lift and mud tires. You can't take it or drive it like an ATV (4 wheeler).Well you can, but it will tear up.

There are trucks with "off road" packages on them ( this truck is not one of them). Off road in the sense of being on dirt roads and mud- not climbing rocks type thing.

This truck will have dirt and mud way up and in things underneath if she took it off road- as it does not have the shield and other things to protect it.

Edited to add-there is a GPS fuse in the fuse box
This made me wonder if she had gone through a car wash prior to coming home. The truck does look nice and clean and shiny upon her arrival.

Truck has navigation with NissanConnect.

IMO MOOOOO
I'm going to bet that SM was well aware and well versed in navigation and navigation tracking. Her husband is military.
...Also, well aware of the criminal justice process with her record.
I think she would have been smart enough / savvy enough to remove any electronic tracking if she were about to commit a crime.

In the surveillance cam footage she does three things that appear to be done to avoid detection.
- She backs the truck in to load Gannon into the truck (if he's fine and dandy why not just walk out to the truck with him at the road?)
- She gets back in the truck when another car approaches and hops out once it passes
- It appears to me she shifts whatever she's carrying when she gets to the street to "hide" it against her leg.
I wouldn't be surprised if she thought backing the truck up would get her out of view of the neighbors camera.

I also think that's why she's so belligerent in her interview. She's smarter than them. They won't catch her.

Shock, disbelief,Worry, regret. His son was last seen by his now SO,and his disappeared son's SM. Who has not been forthcoming,or cooperative. Her own words show she obviously did not want to comply with the search warrant for the car keys. The big blue meanies clearly don't buy what she's selling. How dare they. How dare Dad,and mom stick together when it's their son who is missing.
MOO

The first I heard about the existence of a video was when the neighbor was interviewed for the first time. The video was not shown, but the neighbor said he couldn’t sleep so he got up in the middle of the night and began watching video from before Monday. He says that when he saw what he saw, he notified the father later that morning. The father cried and said it was significant. LE was notified.
LE asked media to withhold the video.
It should also be noted that this same neighbor’s video would likely be studied to determine what went on on Sunday after they returned from the alleged hike. Who went? What time did they get home? Did anyone go out later? Etc.
SM was very specific about Sunday because those activities can be corroborated. Monday she’s not sure of times, she didn’t see him when he left, but she likely told LE she saw him in the house around 3:15 so they would be looking outside after that.

I hear ya’ but these are assumptions. I’m looking for something showing LE was unaware of the video and what it showed between 10-2 when the neighbor discussed it. So far I see nothing to suggest they didn’t. We are going off what the neighbor said but he doesn’t know what LE knew.

Who has a violent criminal history?

I think anyone would feel inconsolable and a bit guilty if their partner, whom they trusted with the care of their kids, hurt or had something to do with their child’s disappearance.

But, the home-cut ones look ragged, don't they? (Source: Teenager of the 80's, the decade of cut-off sweatshirts, here.) Unless somebody's thinking she stopped to sew them up that morning, which seems unlikely to me.
Boom. And there it is. We have our “cinnamon rolls” for this case. The thumb hole sweatshirt/bandage debate.

I’m not criticizing, as I also joined in the debate. It’s just so amazing to see that there is always one “cinnamon roll” often repeated discussion in every case. I guess that’s inevitable when we only have breadcrumbs in a case full of questions and especially questionable characters. (Patrick Frazee/Krystal Kenney/SM.)

BINGO

I don't think LE or FBI was in possession of any videos from RD prior to Sunday.

From the interviews I saw with RD he did as LE had asked and viewed the time frame on Monday afternoon to see if he saw Gannon walking anywhere. He did not. So he didn't report anything because he thought he had nothing.

It's not like LE goes and collects all the cam footage in a neighborhood ; they ask citizens to review and turn in anything that might be relevant. I also don't see anywhere in any of the dozens of interviews I've seen with RD that he implies that LE missed something.

RD clearly said in multiple interviews that it was bothering him when he was up late and he couldn't make things out well on his iPad so he put it up on the TV and looked at a larger time frame. The result was he saw what he did. He went to AS the next morning (Sunday) and they notified LE.

Can you link to those? On 1-30-20 at the presser LE stated they had been reviewing video surveillance and electronics. Asking him if he viewed doesn’t mean they also didn’t collect the footage at that time. I think of course LE would also ask the witness if he noted anything but not just leave it at that. The FBI really doesn’t seem to work that way.

Sorry if this has been addressed...is there a backdoor to the house he left from?
The drone shots show these houses all have tall solid fences surrounding the backyards. It is unclear if their is a gate on the back span of fencing, but common sense says there should be. I think the building codes demand at least one other exit from the houses. At least they do around here.

Good question- add while living in area cameras on their houses are "common"- cameras -bars on windows- means safe for kid to walk alone? ( criterea for my kids to leave front of house-"you have to be able to outrun a man")

Idk, I live in a very nice neighborhood/suburb with very little crime. Every other house has a camera. It's just the thing to do these days it seems so I would not equate it to bars on a window.

Plus, an 11yo is too young to not know his exact whereabouts at every given moment. For her not to even know which friend he was supposedly going to visit is bizarre in this day and age. Plus walking unaccompanied without his cell phone? That whole thing is shady.

It really caught my eye that while she is moving the item remains completely flat on the bottom as she is walking. And when she starts to cross in front of the car you can really see it when she angles it like down the side of her leg.

It's a rigid item/ bag. My first thought was a billiard bag (I'm not a gun person) ... Then I goggled rifle bag and the image I posted was the first that game up :( Not saying anything for sure of course. It could be some other bag that would carry something similar.

Again,on still catching up so this might be covered by now,but someone mentioned she points it down when she gets to the car?( I can barely see the people nevermind anything else:oops:) If this is true that would add more weight to your theory I think, isnt pointing a rifle downwards when carrying it basic gun 101?,I wouldnt know as I've never set eyes on a gun in my life(I just read a LOT of crime fiction lol),but I would think this is true?:(

So, just IMO, what if TR was covering up for someone else, very close and dear to her , for something that happened on sunday. And by monday, she realized that Gannon would'nt make it and lied and covered up and lied more. Just a theory and my own opinion.
