Right? What does she say about mom in private if she’s willing to throw her under the bus like that on TV?

Seriously! I get some people have bad blood in divorces/custody/remarries but, IMO, that was so tacky and unnecessary to say that on TV! That doesn't matter right now, finding Gannon does. I understand emotions, and I couldn't imagine being under a microscope like the SM is. But that did no favors for her, IMO, that is not going to chance anybody's opinion, just make it worse.

I live in Denver. My unaccompanied 12-13yrnold rides. I think urban is different than Hwy or more rural though. A bus driver would have surely alerted authorities if a child had ridden alone in the area.

I don't think he is a runaway.

Also...Hi, first post. I've been reading for a long time.
I should have been more clear, as I'm in the Denver area too. I personally cannot recall seeing a younger kid on public transportation, but I am sure some do. But it's not nearly as common as other cities so I wouldn't make an assumption that GS knew how to navigate the bus system. Especially if he didn't have a phone with him to find the route times.
Also to your point, Springs is a pretty large city, but doesn't have the system Denver does.
And welcome!!

So I came here to say a few things:

I have an almost 11 year old and I'm a stay at home mom. If you're sick enough to stay home from school then you don't go to a friend's. Most parents try to avoid making doctor's appointments that miss school. If he was taken to the drs BECAUSE he was sick, he sure as heck should not have gone to a friend's. I don't think this is the truth but that's my speculation of what happened.

I would not let my 11 year old walk alone to a friend's in Colorado Springs after having lived there for several years. The place is teeming with sex offenders.

Now for the past tense thing: I'm up visiting my parents because my grandfather died a week ago. I keep referring to him in the present tense and have to correct myself because I know he is dead. To speak about a child automatically in the past tense concerns me. That's my 2 cents here.

Also, the way that she refers to herself and everyone else around her, she has the victim mentality, and the boy may not have liked her because of his parents divorcing and the father remarrying. This does not look good. IMO.

She uses his name often which is a plus. Calling out his bio mum is understandable given she is being pushed out by her. The past tense (althoug not good) ref could be due to, weather, was it bad, illness, does he have any, is on meds have LE alluded to the fact he maybe he idead. The interviewer does a bad job. He introduces scenarios instead of just letting her talk, getting a Lawyer is understandably given the way LE have treated her and the rumours flying around. Theres is not enough to go on to persuade me either way (involved or not in his disappearance) at this moment.

If you’re wrongly accused of something, then I absolutely understand the anger and frustration. I get that.

What I don’t get, is making that the focus when a child’s life is on the line.

Your child’s life.

This is about finding your stepson, not an airing of grievances. Hugely problematic, IMHO.

The final "tearful plea" at the end was no award winning performance, guilty or not after the whole ME ME ME interview. IMO
Bio mom didn't say one bad thing about her, hasn't publicly blamed her in anyway that I saw and yet, SM throws her right under the bus. It doesn't sound like she got herself a lawyer because this interview would never had happened. IMO

These are fair points.

I’m going to listen to this a couple times, but around the 6 minute mark we have the old “past tense” thing going on.
Yep, as soon as he asked her to tell him a little bit about Gannon, it was all in the past tense, "he was" "he would" etc. That's something you just don't get wrong, naturally.

It wasn’t edited at all. That’s the raw, uncut version. It won’t air on tv in that form.
Nice find and that's the way we like 'em here but receive rarely. At one stage I was expecting LE to enter the scene and arrest her for 'something'.
We need to keep this safe. Her primary interest in the return of the missing child was in salvaging her own ego. Flash to the sobs and plea scene, wearing shades even though we were not meant to see her face...almost as if she's commercializing it- it being the missing child that she refers to in the past tense while wounding his distraught mother while knowing she is almost in despair!

Gannon’s stepmom conducted an interview that did her absolutely no favors.
The link is a page back.
I guess I need to listen again because I don't recall her mentioning a doctor appointment in that interview.

In any case, I was trying really hard to be in this woman's corner but wowzer, she completely blew it with that self-centered interview. She 100% comes across as being more angry for her reputation, than worried sick about her missing step-son. :(

She is the victim.
She is not living in the house because Gannon's mother is there.
Speaks about Gannon in the past tense.
She wants an apology from everyone pointing the finger at her, especially her husband.
Was questioned aggressively by the police.

She said at 00:46 that she had not been coming home because she was told that she couldn't.
