Notice how she said LS made 'bad choices' and 'mistakes' with her choice of partners, but anything to do with the killing and she didn't know what she was doing?
It's almost like in some aspects, the defendant had free will and the ability to dictate the direction of her life (albeit not always in healthy ways), and in others, she can't be held accountable because she wasn't there even if she was, and if she did do it then it was for reasons out of her control. Funny, that.
