Yes all birds come home to roost as have I.
I have worked on 24hr locked psych units for 10 plus years as the rec. specialist and being a part of the treatment team I experienced a lot of psych. disorders in action and the treatment provided. By my standard of treatment James Holmes was ill served by the incompetent Dr. Fenton! It was her failure to address his persistent homicidal ideology. The supervising Psychiatrist of my unit has never and I suppose would never prescribe Zoloft to a suspected Schizophrenic patient with psychotic features, that drug is known to exacerbate the symptoms especially if withdrawn or the patient is non compliant. Dr?Fenton could have forced him into treatment by asking a few pointed questions, for example " Do you mind if I verify that you have no firearms?" if the patient refuses the psychiatrist has more reason to suspect that the patient is lying and may be a threat to others or themselves. She failed him and she bears responsibility.

I always wondered why Fenton never put him on a 5150 mandatory psychiatric hold.

I know..You are correct..BUT JH lived among other's since he was young..He was quite capable to conforming..but stated in interviews he always felt uncomfortable ( not fearful) just uncomfortable ALL NOT taking medications...Just maybe he might be able to "BOND" with those similar to himself???

I'm of a split mind on this..balancing safety always!!

Don't really think he could bond for longer than a minute IYKWIM?

I have seen many in Pa. "302'd" for less. At his first meeting he stated he had homicidal thoughts and continued to do so. If he was put into a mandatory the insc. money goes to the the supervising DR. not DRF. She could have done it and none of her testimony indicated that she was motivated by his care. She strung him along for the $$$$ and the sad fact is JH despite the level of his illness recognized that fact. JMO he wanted to be "locked up". Rather than do the paper work for a "hold" she called his mother! A huge Hippa violation. Sad very sad.
For those here who think a person can't organize or plan while in a total delusion I ask that you watch A Beautiful Mind ot better read the bio of Nobel winner John Nash.

Thank god this ISN'T the Arias trial. 5 minutes before they announced the verdict, Nurmi would object that reading the verdict in front of reporters wasn't fair. This of course would lead to a 30 minute sidebar.......and then a break for lunch.

Then JSS would delay the reading of the verdict until after the Labor day holiday.........and/or whatever day Jodi wanted it to be read.

Well..He's had 3 hours to do so..so shouldn't delay anything..

BUT something just popped into my head...I'd bet Court would be in session @ 6PM Eastern..and the Judge will go over parameters with lawyers ..WATCH DEF> go on and on about demos!!! Judge will shut that down..

I also believe the Judge, Pros. and Def. already know the verdict..So much of this will be by the book... I'm just going to turn on my feed now just incase our bevies Judge brings Court into session...YEPPPP!! I was right!!
