Jennifer texted her son while she was in the customer service line at Sam's Club. When he tried to call her around an hour later, he said her phone was off.

His mother is committed to helping cats throughout the community, and was out buying cat food to feed both feral colonies and personal pets. However, she never made it home that night.

Her son said it is not in his mom's personality to just disappear. Besides her family and friends in the animal community, he said she keeps to herself and they don't know of anything suspicious in her life.

Cleland was supposed to make it to Walmart that night as well, but they are not sure if she did. An officer has gone there to review the surveillance footage, but do not have the results just yet.

I wonder if the person returning the cart saw anything but didn't put it all together at the time. If the camera shows anything, I wonder if that person will be on the fringe, maybe having a smoke, or resting on a bench, or walking through the parking lot. How long did he observe the cart without anyone around it prior to bringing it inside?

Just based on her fb page Jennifer does invaluable work. Fixing over 800 cats this year, picking up ferals, has them fixed, sets them free back into the area of their colony. I always admire that drive. Dont let this lady be overlooked & fall through the cracks Colorado Springs. Dont we have some mp's in the area? Females later found? Or was that another area? Searching now.

So it sounds like they don't for sure if she went to the Walmart? I wish they could get that footage checked ASAP!

They know she went to Sam's Club and that she was planning to go to all of her feral cat feeding sites to feed the kitties. I wonder if someone has at least taken a look around all those feeding sites?

I hope she turns up safe.

Maybe it had obvious perishables, and the man thought "well, at least this way it will be intact/unspoiled if the person comes back for it"? Maybe the man is an unrelated Good Samaritan. It's hard to fathom a scenario where any vaguely intelligent kidnapper takes time to return their groceries; and to what end would you do such a thing, really? More time spent lingering at a crime scene = more chances to get caught...
Agreed - you don't kidnap someone and then give the opportunity to be seen by people with their personal items. IMO it's simply someone returning a stray cart that had perishables in them. Hopefully surveillance footage will give some clues.

Just trying to understand the area. Colorado Springs, CO. has an Estimated Population of 472,688 in 2018. I see several missing women in the past year from Colorado Springs, CO. on NamUS. Since 1980, 20 missing were reported on NamUS. 12 of those MP occurred from 2005 to present, those numbers are only as good as the reporting party and idk what their criteria is for listing those w/ NamUs
Idk if there is suspected family violence involved in those cases either.
I peeked in at their crime stats:
There were 3,039 Violent Acts cases w/ 46% clearance rate by Colorado Police Dept. 857 sex offense crimes w/ a 22% clearance rate. Her age group is less likely to fall victim to a sex crime than 10- 17 yr old females if you view from that perspective the info I viewed came from here.https://coloradocrimestats.state.co...rimes/colorado-springs-police-department/2018

I am always wary of stats bc I dont know how accurate they are or if my interpretation is valid and logical lol

Google Maps
This is the intersection of North Union and Lelaray St. You can see the WalMark store in the background. Note the traffic cameras by the traffic lights. I wonder if they have looked at the footage to see if her car went through the intersection with her in the drivers seat.

Interesting. That Walmart is closer to the E Woodman Sam's club but still farther away from Sam's than two other Walmart stores: Google Maps

I wonder why she would go to that one over the other two? Was it on her way home from Sam's?
I wonder if the lady who left her cart full of purchases at Walmart wasn't Jennifer? If it was her I hope LE will release the video of her from Walmart soon. MOO.

I can't determine if she arrived at the store with the coffee cup or bought it inside the Walmart (like a cafe). Is there a Starbucks or that type coffee shop between her home and this Walmart?

MISSING-
‼️‼️COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado‼️‼️

Colorado Springs police are looking into a missing person's case involving 47-year-old Jennifer Cleland.

According to family members, Cleland was last seen Saturday around 7:30 p.m. at the Walmart on N. Union and Lelaray St.

Cleland's brother reports, employees at the Walmart say they saw a lady with coffee buy groceries and then leave the store. A short time later a man was seen pushing her cart into the store with the coffee and all the groceries inside. Walmart is following protocol and is working to report what they saw to the police.

Family members say Cleland lives less than a mile away from the grocery store with her mom and nephew. Her last contact was a text message to her son.

She is described as 5'2", 230 lbs, dark brown hair with red highlights and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing pink flip-flops and a black shirt with pants.

She drives a navy blue 2006 Dodge Stratus four-door with tinted windows.
