This perp will be found. LE seems very determined.

I always agree with nurse but there are other articles that do say she was dismembered. Not intact could also mean dismembered as well.

Not intact would be opposite 2.

http://i.word.com/idictionary/intact

Main Entry: in·tact
Pronunciation: \in-ˈtakt\
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English intacte, from Latin intactus, from in- + tactus, past participle of tangere to touch — more at tangent
Date: 15th century
1 : untouched especially by anything that harms or diminishes : entire, uninjured
2 of a living body or its parts : having no relevant component removed or destroyed: a : physically virginal b : not castrated
synonyms see perfect
— in·tact·ness \-ˈtak(t)-nəs\ noun
you don't have to agree with me.. at all! LOL... I am only saying that the word that they used was "not intact" and that the media took liberties with that word. Could it mean dismembered? Sure it could. But it could also mean other things like animal activity and until they release more (LE) they have continued to tweet that they are the only official word on the case... not the media.

While I usually agree with profilers and the general perp profiles for these cases, I want to point out something that ocurred to me.

I know that these profiles are usually based on past cases and statistics over many years. The one thing that I have noticed in the last 10-20 years is how much people and generations have changed. It seems as if perps are becoming younger and violent crimes are not as unheard of from even the youth of today. It seems to me that a lot of people walking around from the ages of 10-35 are more or less desensitized to violence...unlike that of 30+ years ago. Our youth today grows up with shows like CSI, Identification Discovery, violent video games, and many gorey (sp?) stories can be read anywhere on the internet. Access to violence seems to be everywhere today.

It all makes me wonder how and why we really don't see the profiling of perps changing much over the years. Are we pidgeon-holing ourselves when we aren't looking at trends from the last 20 years?

This was a random thought I had while reading and wanted to share...maybe see what you all think?

You're exactly right in my opinion.

Profiling is always in catch up mode. They can't profile for crimes that have not yet been committed. It usually takes quite a while between when the crime is committed, when the perp is caught and when all the evidence from the case is released (usually after trial).

One simple example was how profilers thought that perps stuck to their own racial group. Whites killed whites, blacks killed blacks. And then all of a sudden it changed.

Well, what changed was our society. Forty years ago, a white seen with a black was memorable in most places and would raise an eyebrow at the very least. It would be the exact opposite of blending in to evade detection.

But then society in the US started changing for the better and it was no longer memorable to see a white person and a black person together.

And then predators proved that it was all about opportunity and not about race.

I apologize if I missed a relevant comment on the linked post:

Is it possible the perp was simply claiming his own "insanity" when he placed JR's backpack and water bottle "a few feet" from the home of Stephenie Rochester ("SR"), who was found "not guilty by reason of insanity" in her 6 year old son's death?

In January 2012, Stephanie Rochester was sentenced to the state mental health hospital until she is deemed not to be a danger to herself or others.

Is it possible the perp was at the same hospital until recently (JR abduction and murder)? Had the perp met SR after she was admitted? .. might be worth for F.B.I. to interview SR or, at least check release records for this year (not names, just release dates) and follow up with warrants if necessary.

Totally agree that he wanted it to be found. If not, you could just drive over to coal creek or up Golden Gate road and toss the body (and/or parts) off the side of the mountains at numerous scenic lookouts/pullouts. Nobody would think anything of it, would just think you were taking pics of "city lights" from the viewpoints if pulled off to the side. I personally wouldn't drive that road at night, but it is probably dark and less traveled and the remains wouldn't be found for quite a while (if you were trying to hide them).

Ugg, do you know how often I think about this when we're driving through the mountains? My mind just goes to "there must be so many people out there".

where her house is and the way she walked to school isn't right off a "main" street, it sits back a bit off the main road intersection. The perp had to drive about a mile or so off the main road (wadsworth) and then go into the neighborhood which can be confusing if you don't know the area...I feel it is someone who lives in that neighborhood..we just need to find out who.

I agree that it is likely someone from Jessica's general neighbourhood.

But I think there is a chance that this is a predator who went online, found the local elementary schools and then started prowling in the morning as kids started off for school. Just looking for that one little window of opportunity, that one little time when a child would be out of sight of other people.

Footwarrior, Interesting theory.
I would like to ad, she could have first been taken into or behind, one of the buildings, empty offices, Fitness Gym, Athletic Club, houses or garages she passed that morning..
what time did she disappear?
Most places do not open until around 8:00 am., except Athletic Gymns.

We need a list of the various types of buildings she would have passed that morning, that was NOT in viewing distance of her friends...
This monster had to have a 'reason', good excuse for being in that neighborhood at that time of the morning...so how did he get there is a question IF he didn't live there....jmo

I'm way behind catching up so please forgive if this has been discussed. When I look at the map, satellite view, I do not see ANY businesses she would have passed, only houses. Is there new information about where she walked that morning? TIA

BBM (Should say "6-month old".)

Still catching up, but can you explain the Subaru theory? I know it seems everybody in Boulder has a Subaru, but.... :)

(p.s. I have one too, they're the best)

It was kind of a joke ... just stressing that CO seems to have a less diverse assortment of cars than other states do, including a higher-than-normal percentage of Subarus and SUVs.

I have a Subaru too ... doesn't everyone in Colorado have one? I remember when we bought our last one that Colorado sells the most Subaru's by far!

I think the Target in Boulder sells them

Yes, this is the case. And the market for used Subies is insane ... they are way overpriced. I've thought about going into business, buying Subarus in other states and selling them here with a crazy markup. (sorry OT)

Perhaps my post was misunderstood so let me explain my reasoning. I was referring to the day she went missing in terms of the perp abducting her. The case drew immediate attention. Not all cases draw that kind of response in the early hours. I was simply pointing out that the perp may have been surprised that this particular situation drew such immediate national coverage. I believe that put him in panic mode as he wasn't expecting it.
Of course there is media coverage now that the case has moved on to the more sensational aspects. But if that hadn't occurred, it wouldn't have gotten this amount of attention.

You know what? That makes sense. I think I misunderstood. Could it have something to do with WS expanding by leaps & bounds in these cases? Iow, as soon as we start hearing of missing children, we start lighting up FB, various social media, msm networks, local tv stations & newspapers...it generates coverage. Idk, just speculating, but I do think the onslaught of true crime forums are helping to bring more attention to these cases. With so many kids falling victim to predators, and with child *advertiser censored* & human trafficking at an all new high, I suspect people are more vigilant. A 10 y/o girl goes missing & her parents were ruled out almost immediately. That could have something to do with the coverage bc so many times the parents are suspected, but in this case they aren't, so it generated public fear. With fear comes anger & people speak out when they are angry or feel threatened. So maybe it generated more coverage that way. Idk, just trying to think it through. I'm sorry I misunderstood you, NC Analyzer.

She was walking to school as pre-planned and had even called her friend that morning to make sure they were still walking to school together, according to her mother. Its in the interview transcripts.

ok .. but the son ended up being driven to school because he waited for her and she didn't show and he would be late otherwise? tia

Oh no!! :floorlaugh: After months of following Kyron's case, everyone started seeing white trucks everywhere...

Very true. And lots of giant white trucks meant to haul horse trailers....that will never be used for hauling anything....

After looking at a map on Google Earth there is no way she did not know this person! How in the world did he lure her in a neighborhood so conjested with people every which way that could see him trying to snatch her. I am wondering if the Aunt that lives in the house has a boyfriend or ex-boyfriend with a past unknown. If it was someone she didn't know, that person was taking a risk of being seen if she screamed and struggled trying to get her into a car. It had to be someone who she trusted who possibly said he would give her a ride up to the park. He wasn't afraid to do it so close to so many people and almost comfortable with his relationship with her. Almost like he would have an excuse if anyone saw her and him together if someone approached unknownly. Again, just my thoughts.

This was a window of opportunity if that's what the perp was waiting for, she usually walked with her friend to school, it was snowing a little and more kids were probably being driven. I think maybe he planned that as his opportunity, if he was waiting for one, so he would know the news, like where he put the backpack, street name, a child had been killed around there. He would also know the history of where he put her, to add the creep factor, it was known for being haunted, maybe even knew maintenance would go there and find her.

He's old enough to get away with this so far, so I keep thinking someone in their 20's, early 30's. He probably likes horror movies, crime shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, maybe, but he could also be a gamer, loner, into the computer *advertiser censored* chatrooms. You know they're searching that angle, anyone into sadistic child *advertiser censored* and has stood out in these chatrooms. If this is his first crime, he's sure been fantasizing it long enough, because he's been good, so far, at not getting caught. JMO and I could be way overthinking this case.

I totally agree, there seems to be a level of fear in LE that I haven't felt before. Its freaking me out and I don't even live there! I really hope parents will go above and beyond to ensure thier childrens safety. Find this guy fast LE !

The thanks button wasn't enough. I sense the same thing. These are seasoned LE and they've seen a lot during their careers, but this is more......

I'm glad I don't know everything they know.

I am somewhat surprised that a pic of the backpack, even an exemplar of some sort was not issued at the same time as the alert that she was missing.

I would not expect LE to release photos of it post discovery once left for finding, but I would have thought we'd have gotten some sort of picture of the type style when she went missing and I don't recall that happening. Maybe it was and I've simply forgotten now.

In the case of Sierra Lamar, we were not given a picture of her pink & brown Juicy Couture bag. Many assumed it was pink with brown handles, and sort of a small "handbag" when it later seemed the bag found was predominantly brown with pink trim, and was a "tote" style.

I heart you sooo much nurse. Thank you! :blowkiss: I say I always agree with you bc I honestly do, we're always on the same page on these cases.

Side note: They definitely ruled out the dude from WY? Wondering how...
