I tried to see what you see in the pics, michellemarls, but I can't tell with pics. Every case I have followed with pics made me lose my mind too! Maybe someone with a trained eye in photoshop can help determine? I know we have people like that around this forum. Maybe they will pop in.

I also hope that Afterall will join us again soon in our discussions.
 
There was an ad using Kara's pics that was signed "skittlegirl" Naomi. I can't find the ad atm because there are a lot to go through but does anyone know what skittlegirl means? I tried Urban Dictionary but I didn't see it in there.
 
Skittles is actually Dextromethorphan, which is a cold medication ingredient that can be purchased over the counter. This comes in the form of a little red tablet similar to the popular candy it is named after.
 
Each case I follow has something that sets it apart from others... in Kara's case, sadly it's her naivety that sets it apart. This poor young woman!

Considering what the article says "One aspect of the investigation is a fear Nichols may have fallen victim to what investigators call a dangerous subculture in Denver."

Skittles in my opinion in this case relates to the rave gear called Skittles. They are small colored glowing lights inside the fingertips of thin white gloves or black gloves with white tips. They and dance with them and make mini light shows for other party goers to enjoy.

i thought this was interesting that the writer mentions this exact topic as we were just talking about this EXACT topic just a few pages ago....do they read here? or what??? either way it is interesting that this article claims that a kind of "Stockholm Syndrome " can occur with trafficked/coerced victims...not that i ever doubted it...but now we have a citeable source...

A) Do you think Kara was coerced and cant get away but wants too

B) Kara was coerced and now is having some sort of "Stockholm
Syndrome" and doesnt think about getting out?

C) Something bad has happened and search parties need to start searching for Kara?

D) A & B are the bad things that have happened and searchers need to start looking for her?


im on the fence:fence:officially. I wish that no woman would ever be subjected to this type of lifestyle without first living what it is like without it in your life. my personal opinion is that the "adult entertainment industry" can be in some cases a death sentence for the woman and especially underage children. other than the $$$ one has the potential to earn, that money doest ever seem to get them out of the "life"... it also brings all sorts of undesirables into the participants life...this list could go on forever...

i think if Kara chose this for her self i dont understand why she would leave all of her necessities behind..and why she would not contact her family - especially if she thought they were going to put out a search party...i think she would have called them with some kind of story to put their minds at ease...but, im not her so i have no idea what to think. I do however think that if she wound up in this "adult entertainment industry" for whatever reasons---she needs an opertunity to get out, and not just because her parents want her out...but because there is a much better life waiting for her outside of that "industry". i hope she finds her way out...and soon jmho, moo and all the other :moo:
 
I was thinking rave scene, too. Back in my day we were called Kandi Kids, don't know if that's still the term or not, but thought maybe skittle girl was new term for girl ravers.

I did find a few things saying it related to bisexuality and girl parts....

Just for the record, I don't believe there was a rave in the middle of the week in Denver. No one else has ever even hinted at that, and the roommates and family have only ever said that this was employment related. Keep in mind that at the beginning of this case, there was very little information or attention given to this. A google search of Kara either brought you to about 2 news websites, or here. I think we were purposely misled. And thanks to Ransom for bringing that old post back up!
The bottom line to me is the fact that Kara didn't even bring her purse, ID, or anything to indicate she planned to be gone for more than a few hours. Even if she decided in the middle of the night to move to Vegas to become a high price call girl, she would have needed her ID to start over. Something happened on the night of Oct. 9 that made her phone stop pinging while she headed north on I-25. I don't have a link, it may have been on the news that I heard that-but I did hear it. I think everything else is a red herring, and there was no rave, and she's not posting from Vegas.

Something happened on the night of Oct. 9 that made her phone stop pinging while she headed north on I-25....Spamelope, those very words give me shivers...even the thought of it. Yes, everything points to the fact something very sinister happened shortly after Kara stepped foot out of her apartment, causing her to leave all of her personal belongings.

If she had no ID, no money, no means of transport and no phone (if it was taken from her), and she was driven to some unknown location...then really what chance would she have of escaping? She would be at the mercy of whom ever "took" her. These fiends could have then forcefully drugged her. If she didn't know where she was, ect, she wouldn't, nobody would, stand a chance of escaping.

BBM- I wanted to bring this back up again. She was reported to have gone to work and BD was her employer who would have more than likely sent her on any modeling jobs. I am very curious to know what her message was to them.

Yes, indeed. Her bf or ex bf posted on there fb page asking if they had seen or heard from Kara after she had gone missing. There reply was, not since the 9th Oct. He then replied that that was when she went missing. Hmmm have you seen the talk on the Model Mayhem forum regarding Kara. There are some girls there that have worked for BDM and don't have very good things to say about it's main photographer. Apparently they say he promises allsorts of job opportunities to the models, when of course he is unable to deliver on these promises.

Ha Ha, that cracked me up. I was also a Kandi Kid, complete with all the ridiculous gear. l have noticed the new raver kids listen mostly to dubstep and wear more furry things, less clothing, and a ridiculous amount of plastic bracelets.
 
Here are my thoughts about the pictures. Some of the photos have the logo on the corner of the picture as having been uploaded to that website without another logo on the photo, ostensibly in its original state. There is another website which has the photos featuring a different logo. That means that the pictures for both were uploaded to the sites as regular image files and not something from the internet.
The second thing I wanted to mention is the fact that they state her correct age in the ad? Of course this could be just a coincidence.

I wonder if anyone has called any of the numbers to see if they are disconnected or no longer in service. I know one of the phones was a cricket, so maybe it was a burner.
 
All the ads have different ages, it just depends what site they are on. I know one of the numbers was a Voice Internet Provider which I guess is like a google phone but I would hope that LE had contacted the numbers.

the one telltale sign will be those holes in her ears. (sorry, I am so "un-hip" I don't know what they are called.. but being a military spouse I DO know that if you take the little insert out the ears need surgery to get rid of the gaping hole.. I know this because DH had to deal with some ROTC students getting their ears fixed before going on Active Duty)
 
So, I googled the one number on the escort site listing that has a number of different ladies on it, including Kara. Apparently, a person made a complaint about the number saying someone named "lola" had text her. This complaint was posted in Feb.

If you have found or looked at the main escortphonesearch page listing all photos associated with that number, Lola is the other brunette that isn't the POI (this discovered by backsearching her images through Google and finding her other escort ads that list her escort name as such).

How I wish the brunette (who is still alive) told LE pertinent info re Kara. Sounds like brunette girl did not disclose the name of the other brunette in this case, which makes little sense.
