they finished their search of the pond after 4 p.m.

The pond is about six blocks away from where Kayleah went missing.

The Weld County posse, a group of officers on horses, also searched the area. The mounted officers started at Greeley West High School and moved south in their search.

GREELEY, Colo. -- Searchers spent hours on Saturday combing fields near the home of Kayleah Wilson.

The 12-year-old Greeley girl went missing last Sunday on her way to a friend's birthday party.

Dozens of volunteers joined the Weld County sheriff's posse on foot and on horseback searching through undeveloped areas of long grasses, trees and bushes less than a mile from where the girl was last seen.

Greeley Police Chief Jerry Garner said investigators are working around the clock on this case.

It is concerning, and I am worried for her. A week is a long time, her Mom must be beside herself.

Like Renner, these longtime residents of the Greeley Mall-area watched gang activity change their neighborhood for the worse. In the past 18 months, three gang-related shootings have occurred within blocks of their homes.

"This used to be a pretty safe neighborhood," Garcia said. "I used to go to the mall and not even lock the door."

Not a chance that will happen today. Not after Garcia's house was broken into and her car were windows smashed out three times. Garcia's neighbors moved away after their fence, pickup truck and car were tagged with gang graffiti. Her own house has been a canvas for graffiti:
