Much less one 14 hours away from home.
Long way to go for a chili dog.
True, and if she had a Sonic chili dog and then was in KB’s house later, I really hope they checked that bathroom thoroughly for DNA. Ifyaknowwhatiamsayin.

But seriously, if she really did use her debit card at a Woodland Park Sonic that weekend, then she’s either mighty dumb or else she really didn’t know at that point that anything was amiss with KB.

My hope for arrest of KK (IMO) is sadly not going to happen (I believe) at this point. They would’ve got her by now. Here’s her likely defense: so I had an affair with the guy, so I was in CO over thanksgiving visiting him, so he asked me travel with KB’s phone, so I sent some texts under false pretenses that may have been unethical but not illegal, I destroyed the phone because she’s the other girlfriend I don’t like her. I had no idea she was being murdered. Nothing you say can prove my actions were illegal or that I had criminal involvement in her death.
This is the same thing that happened with NK in the Cw case. They can’t prove anything with the side girl. This is what I’m afraid of.

You are probably right. With one exception. There was zero evidence that NK was in any way involved in any pre or post murder assistance to CW. There apparently may be proof here.

So the two cannot be compared.

Otherwise, yeah. Smart thinking that if she can claim she had no idea what it was all about, she wasn't an accessory.

Day care? K wasn't in daycare. I've seen no indication she had medical expenses on a monthly basis but I do know she wasn't in school. The guardian of the child usually is the surviving parent. And $1,800/mo. tax-free is hardly chump change. I'll agree to disagree and move on.

At minimum, she would have health insurance monthly I would think. I’m sure KB had her insured through work, but now that she’s gone, idk what happens

I sure would like to know what time KKL went to the Sonic and if she was at Thanksgiving dinner with PF at the ranchette. I also want to know if his family knew about her. I was imagining that he brought KKL to the ranchette, introduced her to the family, and had dinner as though everything was somewhat normal, then went back to clean up his mess later. Maybe what really happened was radically different. If she has family in CO, maybe she had Thanksgiving dinner with them and met up with PF later in the weekend. Or maybe she helped with more than phone disposal. So many possibilities. MOO

I think his family knows about her, if their past work history is true.
I wonder if the ranch they supposedly worked at is being searched?

If it matters, I can type an email address into my text instead a phone number and it goes through. It says from 123-123-1234@vztxt.com or similar, instead of just my phone number.
And conversely, if you were on your computer on your Verizon account and sent a text from there to a cellphone number, that person would see a text that says it came from your @vzwtxt.com account. It would not show your phone number as the sender. I’ve done this many times.

So bottom line, texts do not LOOK the same when sent from a computer versus sending them phone-to-phone. At least, not with Verizon - I can’t speak for how other providers do it.

@susiQ, here's what I found.

Possible evidence in Kelsey Berreth investigation found in Idaho
Federal agents and local law enforcement officials in Twin Falls, Idaho, have served several search warrants and “processed some items of evidence” related to the disappearance of Woodland Park mother Kelsey Berreth, Twin Falls police said in a statement.

Evidence in case of missing Colorado mom discovered: Police
"Detectives from the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office and Twin Falls Police Department worked with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations [CBI] and the FBI to prepare and serve several search warrants as well as processing some items of evidence with the assistance of Twin Falls County and Twin Falls City Evidence Technicians," the police department's statement reads.
Thanks PommyMommy! NightWatchman also pointed out the article I posted was from 2010. Sorry, old news :)

Yes. Didn’t KB neighbor say she thought PF actually lived at the condo? Clearly she didn’t know her neighbors well, but she knew she saw him often enough not to think otherwise (?.)

Yes. She said he very often stayed over.

I do have a feeling that he was likely “living” there unofficially, just never legally changed his address. I think that’s pretty common.

I rule out monetary motives, like K’s SS benefits. As the child ages & begins day care, preschool, elementary, etc., the cost of raising her soars. IMO, he would not have a dollar left over, after satisfying baby K’s needs.
Maybe the health insurance stays in place until KB is no longer an employee with DOSS. Moo

I truly believe there will be so many complicated details that emerge during this case. It is rare that murder charges are filed within what, 3 weeks..lost track..? of a missing person notification, without a body. This will be a case to follow and I so, so feel for KB's family. The murder plus the wrongful death suit, years..... I just hope during this time the family can bury, love and move on somewhat. The word "closure" is not possible...perhaps easing into a new normal.

I agree. Great post.

Did another neighbor say he was only there to pick up the child? So confusing.

I just looked up the time frame on results of DNA testing in different States. No forensic crime lab in CO? Unless I missed it? Nearest would be ID and the turnaround time is 45-60 days. I'm guessing they would have used ID as WA has a much longer wait for results.
Interesting. Any thoughts?
FORENSIC TESTING TURNAROUND TIMES IN 50 STATES

The FBI lab can do a much quicker turn around, maybe?
IMO

If KK was going to send texts on a missing woman's home, she wouldn't send them 35 miles from her house. No way. She would have sent them far, far away from her house. She could have sent them from Wyoming or Utah which she had to drive through to get back to her house.

I think the texts were preprogrammed by Patrick. KK was either set up to take the blame for Kelsey's disappearance or Patrick was too stupid to calculate how long it took KK to drive back to her home.

Did KKL have HER 2 kids with her on her Thanksgiving day trip?
I was guessing no. If the phone pinged in the 5 o’clock hour in Gooding, I was thinking that gave her time to get home and prepare before having the custody exchange with her ex-husband. Seems like 7 or 8 Sunday evening is a common time for that to take place. Though, did I see on the news somewhere that she and ex still live together? Even so, I imagine they “took turns” with the kids.

MOO
