It has been two years since Kelsie Schelling disappeared in Pueblo and her family is growing desperate to find her.
On Saturday, February 7, Kelsie's mother will hold a “Justice Walk” outside the Pueblo Police Department.
The group will march from the police station to the District Attorney's Office.
You can read more about Kelsie's case here.

Video with Kelsie's mother and more at link.

Unusual to say the least..to plan then cancel and refuse to disclose why. Let's hope there's something in the works.

Pueblo police cancel plans to hold press conference for missing woman; Deputy Chief refuses to explain why

:sigh:

Wow, Police changing their mind on the Press Conference. Very Sad!!
Even if there is NO news, keep the press conference anyway, as it at least keeps Kelsie
in the news after 2 years!!
This doesn't say a lot for the LE in Pueblo. Why commit to something, then change their mind?
That is hurtful to the family, friends and people who are interested in finding Kelsie.
I respect LE, and unfortunately when LE says one thing but changes their mind concerning a press conference,
this looks like a lack of respect for Kelsie's family and to Kelsie, in my opinion.
Why not just hold the conference??
I hope there is Good Reason why they canceled.....
It's sad!!!
IMOO.

I wonder what was behind the dropped identity theft charges. My thinking with the LE presser was either they had some new info then cancelled when the info changed or there was nothing new to report and decided that the heat they were going to take (no progress especially when they have a obvious suspect) wasn't worth the presser until an arrest is made.

" "We initially were working towards the identity theft but it, we found out through further investigation that that was not uncommon that she had given him permission in the past to use the card," McLachlan explained. "

I read this whole thread today. Even though I knew she had not yet been found, I was completely captured by the momentum of the posts. The fears, the hopes, the revelations, the thinking "something will happen soon". I had to keep reminding myself this was still in the missing section for a reason. What a horrible situation.

Kelsie's parents are suing Donthe Lucas, Sara Lucas (mother), and Vivian Lucas (Donthe's grandmother), as well as the Pueblo Police Department.

The parents of a 22-year-old missing pregnant woman have filed a federal lawsuit against a former college basketball star for "wrongful death" and Pueblo police officers for failing to properly investigate her alleged murder.

On May 31, 2014, a fisherman on Lake Minnequa snagged his line on an object appearing to be a "human upper head and torso," the lawsuit says. Robinson repeatedly stated his intention to have a dive team search for the body, but it has never been done, the lawsuit says.

WOW.

Robinson "confessed that he had lied to Kelsie's family about evidence found in Kelsie's car" when he initially told them the car was wiped clean, the lawsuit says. He acknowledged that suspected "dried bodily fluids" and two large palm prints off the front seat head rests of Kelsie Schelling's car had actually been found.

There is a Kelsie Schelling justice march going on in Pueblo today. Apparently several of the participants are also family members of others who have gone missing and are unhappy with the way the Pueblo Police have handled their cases.

The lawsuit accuses police detectives of "deliberately" interfering with the Schelling family's "right to file a wrongful death lawsuit in Colorado District Court … by refusing to open and investigate a criminal case arising from the death and disappearance of Kelsie Schelling, by tampering with or destroying evidence material to any wrongful death claim, by deliberately disregarding compelling leads and evidence pointing to the homicide of Kelsie Schelling by Donthe Lucas."

then goes on to spell out the lawsuit ....

Sure would like to hear LE's side of this. I can't fathom a police department in a major city being this incompetent.

On May 31, 2014, a man fishing with his girlfriend on Lake Minnequa in Pueblo snagged his line on what appeared to be a "human upper head and torso," the lawsuit states. The man reported the discovery to Detective Robinson and took him to the lake to show him the exact location of where the body was located.

Robinson told one of the Schellings' investigators that the "tip was credible" and he had asked the department's dive team to search the lake. But the lawsuit said that never happened.

"This is a deliberate act of not investigating a possible criminal act or lead to recover human remains that could possibly be Kelsie or that of another individual," the lawsuit asserts.

This just boggles my mind!

Reading the lawsuit documents posted on the Help Find Kelsie page is confusing me. Is something fishy going on here? Or is it just negligence? So frustrating!

WoW! The family are doing right by sueing them all, Is DL related to the Police chief or something the LE seem to be very incompetent or unwilling to carry out their duty.
