now that more info is out about this incident it's probably not related to the shootings...a car being chased crashed an accident investigation scene and killed a state patrol cadet and critically injured a trooper...at the intersection of WCR 1 and Hwy 66...it doesn't say why the chase started though...

That map scares me... My daughter is driving around out there as we speak. yikes.

I told her about it but she thinks I am being overprotective and a bit nuts...

She and her bf flew to Denver, rented a car, and are going around sightseeing. I do know she is meeting my niece in Breckinridge, so that is going away from previous trouble spots it seems. :sigh:

A Fox31 Denver news peice w/ video. Little additional detail or images:

I've noticed at the end of many of shooting cases, the perp/s end up having attended shooting ranges. This case has a wiff of gaming mentality to me so I've asked to have lazer tag places and paintball locations added. If any locals with knowledge of shooting ranges could help with information and their perspective, it would be greatly appreciated. This is just based on taking unconnected guesses on possible ideas that would help hone in.

Little bit of controversy over some coverage

That makes sense, but there are quite a few of them. I've placed markers, in blue, to indicate gun ranges, lazer tag places, and paintball facilities - at least to the extent that they came up in a quick Google search. I've added little disclaimers to each about them not having any suspected links to the case.

"WINDSOR – More than a week after cyclist John Jacoby was*gunned down on a rural road near Windsor, police are still searching for witnesses and leads in the death of the person residents called the "unofficial mayor" of a tightly-knit town that hasn't seen a homicide in eight years."

"Windsor Police are asking anyone who was in the area between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. the day of the shooting to contact them at 970-674-6400."

Interesting list, but I don't think 1, 2, 3, and 13 are connected. The first three are property crimes, which I doubt are connected with the shootings. The last is an urban road rage shooting. Which doesn't seem to match up with the randomness of the others which occurred in more isolated rural/suburban areas.

good lord! i had heard about the cyclist, but i didn't realize there had been so many shootings. scary. reminds me that a few months ago, there was a spree of dog shootings in the springs. guy was shooting off-leash dogs in the city. obv. don't think they're related, but kinda makes me uncomfortable that kinda random gun violence seems to prevalent all of a sudden.

Thank you for all the information, margarita25, just catching up with it now. Sounds like tips are starting to come in. It may be the kind of thing that would stand out. I hope LE taking a sophisticated digitally enhanced look at the videos from the various incidents, as I do think there are more details to be seen in them.

Who knows, Kaboom? The incidents have been listed not based on any knowledge of a connection but they occurred in that same general area over that last year half and seem to have similarities, while seeming different. Hopefully, having the information posted will generate more information to hone in on whomever is doing the shooting. Interesting that the last incident was not close to the others but in central Denver and also included a shattered window of another car down the block, as well, almost like a parting shot or a signature, maybe? Maybe more details to weed one incident from the next will emerge.

But they are not even in the same general area, and I don't see many similarities. They are in the same state, but thats about all.

The road rage incident happened near Downtown Denver. The cyclist was shot on a rural road 60 miles north of that location. One incident was in the city, one in the country. One was road rage, one was random. What are the similarities?

It's a starting point. Glad you're considering it. Have you noticed other similar concentrations of shootings incidents kind of along the same highway over six months anywhere else? If it is indeed random and different people, then similar patterns should repeat elsewhere? My guess is that it may be a group of 2 or 3 younger people playing a very dangerous game, who may have escalated as they went along. I get the sense that there is a driver, a shooter, and a spotter, and that they may take turns shooting. Their schedule may fit high school athletes, with a break for lunch. I hope I'm wrong in this speculation. The Denver shooting may have been to distance it from them, or as you suggest it could be various people, or just one very frustrated person and copy cats. Until it is known what really happened it makes sense to consider all incidents that have a potential to be related.

I think this is the work of a serial killer who lives somewhere in Northern Colorado. The person is driving around the area looking for victims in isolated areas. Not too much need for a spotter, because there are not that many people around in that area. He is probably shooting from his vehicle.

Possibly the person could be from the North part of the Denver Metro Area, and is driving out of town to look for victims in the rural areas. But the road rage incident is too far south to be related. That incident looks like just a typical run-of-the-mill road rage incident. The psychopath who is responsible for the other shootings, wouldn't do what he is doing on a major urban thoroughfare. The chances of him getting caught would be too great. He is looking for victims out by themselves in an isolated area, where there would be no witnesses.

The 2 cases have been positively linked!!!!
