i keep thinking this had to be a pretty rash decision for CW to kill his family. It just doesn’t make sense. If he had thought this thru at all, he wouldn’t have left a trail of text messages with NK. Even if he didn’t have a lot of knowledge about crime investigations, this is basic common sense.

I wonder if there truly was an “emotional conversation” (ie full out war) when she got home. He told her he met someone else, whatever. He kills her but kids wake up. At that point he had to kill them (and that’s the “deliberate” act the DA referred to).

Nothing else makes sense (not that murdering your kids does either). Also when you look at many family pictures and videos, he DOES look happy and in love with his kids.

I wonder if his parents will now go after LeVel to see if the patches contain something that caused their son to become violent. Mama has to find something.

I think the case could be made for just about any scenario here.

I have a great deal of hope that we’ll get a much clearer picture come Monday.

Whatever evidence is presented, mommy will certainly divert blame elsewhere.

I don’t think she’ll go after Thrive, not because she doesn’t have a case (she doesn’t), but because she’ll look for a more substantial thing on which to place her blame.

Either Shanann did it.

I'm thinking since he still at that point thought he was going to get away with it all...he likely kept up his talking points with the AP in mind regardless, thinking he might be able to win her back? He definitely never said he loved anyone and he also purposely did not mention Nico - just a verbal grunt in affirmation when a reporter mentioned her pregnancy.

Judge Kopcow ruled that CW and RW should be able to speak in court and deliver victim impact statements in which they could ask the judge for a more lenient sentence for their son. They can also deliver such statements through a designee [designated person], according to the judge’s order. But Kopcow ruled that the attorney for the two won’t be allowed to address the court.

No it does not make sense but we find in other cases the same thing happens, they leave evidence and a trail of guilt a mile wide. Chris Coleman sent the threatening emails to his family, setting the stage for their murder, from his own computer. He did it for months. I think the thoughts of achieving what they want, to be rid of their family deludes the reality of what they are doing, they have a grandiose sense of self that they think they are smarter and see their planning and actions in that context, that they will not get caught, quite bizarre.

I think she just didn’t like the skater boy comment because SHE is the one who was still buying Christopher’s clothes at that point so it offended HER. According to the VI that was something SW said to CW on their first date or when they met so basically Mother has hated SW since day one because of that one silly comment. So petty.

He had no idea what would happen that Monday though. No idea that NUA would show up looking for Shan'ann and not be accepting of his story. He tried his best though to get rid of her.

He left the house that morning not having cleared away Shan'ann's suitcase, purse, medications, phone, or even putting away her shoes. He thought he could come home from work that night, sort out those details, and tell everyone they had a conversation and Shan'ann obviously packed up with the girls and left him. Nothing to report to police, just yet, it's a voluntary disappearance. Her possessions cleared out, incomplete bed sheets disposed of. Et Voila. He's got away with it for maybe weeks when the trail is cold by that stage, cctv cameras recycled etc.

NUA's actions that day did not feature in his plan. It doesn't mean it was a rash decision.

I know. Ever since someone mentioned it up thread, it’s been in my head. That stupid clothing comment set the tone for them to not like SW. They chose to hold onto that as opposed to being happy that their precious Chris had a wife who seemed to really love him and took care of him. She gave him adorable children, helped him improve his health, cooked him nice meals and spent time with him on vacations and concerts. Someone earlier mentioned we all think SW was a saint. No not a saint but I do think she wanted to be and tried to be a good wife and mother. She definitely didn’t deserve any of this. Maybe it’s the sentencing tomorrow, but for some reason, I’m feeling especially sad today that her life was taken.

That’s true. I’ve said it before, but this crime would look very different had he the benefit of more time.

I haven't thought it all through with all these latest revelations from NK, but I do tend to think from the minute he lied to NK that the divorce was finalized (which she would discover wasn't true because he could not control whether Shan'ann would agree to a divorce or even confront his mistress) he had already decided to kill them all. He wasn't being attentive to the children either, I gather. Isn't that what Shan'ann said?

When you put it like that, the pieces all fall into place. The murder was definitely pre-planned, the 'divorce was finalized' in his mind so he had to take action! Damn, that's a hard pill to swallow!

Because image is everything to him. It is one thing leaving behind a wife and 2 kids, entirely different to walk out on a pregnant wife and 2 kids. Also his AP might not have been so welcoming if she found out about the baby. As far as she knew she was dating an almost divorced man, she may not have been too keen on the real Chris Watts who had clearly lied the whole time they were together.

He wouldn't have the gumption to live on his own, so he needed the AP in his life. I don't think he would have considered leaving if not for the affair - not because I necessarily think it was "love". - but he needs taking care of. Shanann replaced his mother and he hoped the AP would replace Shanann.

I think the baby news is what drove him to do this, it changed all of his plans, imo.

So true, SW did try her hardest to be a good wife and mother, no one is prefect and she, herself, told us about her flaws, we've all got them. I just think some people feel inadequate around a person like Shanann, maybe, even Mrs W, and yes, Mrs W is a very petty lady!

Yes, I mean from the minute he lied to NK that he was divorcing Shanann. He told her about his very young girls, why not also tell her his wife was pregnant? Something stopped him from wanting to tell her he was divorcing a pregnant wife. I do agree his telling her the divorce was going to be final influenced when he decided he needed them to be gone. I think his lack of attention was him distancing himself from them because he knew what he was going to do.
