With rage killings you see severe beatings, excessive knife wounds, Shanann did not even have severe bruising on her neck, she had minimum wounds. This was not about anger or rage, they were baggage in his new life, baggage that he did not want so in a controlled manner he killed all 3. This was a decision , not a reaction to anything. Unfortunately there are people out there that are like this, there are numerous cases Chris Coleman, Scott Peterson and many more that have already previously been named. None had violent histories, none had abusive marriages, all were thought to be good husbands and good dads until they killed because they wanted something different

Because they see everything from their twisted perspective and they think everyone sees it the same way. They don’t have the ability to see the optics of what they are doing. They are so caught up in what they want that they decide what they are doing makes sense to them and they think it’s going to make sense to everyone else . Are you familiar with the Chris Coleman case? He sent threatening emails that his family was going to be killed to set the stage for murdering his family, he sent the emails from his own computer. Trying to apply logic to how these FA’s think does not work, their brains are not wired like ours. Scott Peterson was selling his wife’s car while search parties were still going on looking for her . They all do things that don’t make sense to the normal world. Premeditated to see CW means he thought about it, had a general plan, just thought he would kill them and take them to the oil site and dump them. He doesn’t think about all the details and particulars that he would need to get away with it to make that happen

I think I am probably the only person that thinks he had a decent plan. I don't think anyone would have found the children's bodies, not in time anyway. I think he thought he had plenty of time to do the clean up work. He put a lot of thought into it. The problem he had was NA. He either didn't know about the doctor appointment or he forgot about it. He thought people would just believe him and forget about his family. I doubt he ever thought the police would come full force. He didn't have a back up plan and apparently his mind doesn't work that way. Having the front and back door chained hurt. I'm sure Shanann chained the front door when she got home. Since he didn't go out that way, he missed it. So although, I believe he planned it, nothing worked out the way he thought it would and he couldn't adapt. And he couldn't fake/pretend he cared they were gone.
I believe he did plan it for a while.How long ? Who knows. He had a plan in his head, nothing went as planned, he couldn't change his plans to go with what did happen. I don't think his brain works that way. JMO
The VI said he only had one serious relationship before he met Shanann. But knowing what we now know, I wouldn't be surpised if that was not true. Maybe he just dated someone for a few months and that was considered to be serious. After all, it only took a couple of months for he and Nickol to fall in love, according to him. Imo
The children in the oil tanks was his strong point - who realistically would ever think of looking there? Those two tanks were due to be decommissioned in the near future, and I'm sure he factored that into his plan. As for Shanann, he probably had another tank somewhere else that was more accessible but the phone calls from NUA precipitated a change of plan and a hurried burial. JMO
OMGoodness, someone actually posted that in earlier threads. Seriously? They were upset she stuck her nose in. I can bet, Shanann's family and friends are very glad she did.
