Seems the BPD will be handing the baton over to the Colorado Cold Case Review Team for 2023.

"The Colorado Cold Case Review Team was created in 2009. CBI created it as an additional tool for agencies investigating cold cases. The team is made of professional investigative, analytical, and forensic experts from across the state, according to CBI, and they typically meet two to four times a year."

Will something come of it or is it just a political game of hot potato?

sgrump,

Looks like It's "hot potato" to me. Also known as Kicking The Ball Into The Long Grass.

i.e. Can't Solve It or Don't Want To Solve It, I reckon it's the latter.

There is enough forensic evidence to put the Ramsey's on trial.

.

There was reference on one of the Websleuths Podcasts that Kolar was on the Cold Case Team. May not be the same group and it may have been years ago.

There's been some recent information about 'persons of interest' being investigated. It has not been stated if it's stemmed from the Cold Case review. It has not been stated if these persons are suspects in the murder or witnesses of some sort; there is a difference.

The year is almost over. Did the Cold Case team accomplish anything other than a couple weekends work at a posh resort?

It would appear that research is being conducted on conviction-based evidence that had not been analysed before.
"Investigators looking to crack the unsolved JonBenét Ramsey murder case hope new DNA technology will help them unravel one of the country's most enduring mysteries — but they don't expect to learn that the 6-year-old beauty queen's killer was a member of her family.

Authorities in Boulder, Colo., have sent several previously untested pieces of evidence to a laboratory for DNA testing as part of a renewed push to solve the 27-year-old cold case"

JonBenét Ramsey Murder Investigators Expect New DNA Tests Will Prove Killer Is 'Someone Completely Unrelated' to Her (Exclusive), The Messenger has learned.

The Messenger imo is a very dubious source for information. The reporter is constantly quoting “anonymous sources.” He seems to have a small group of online followers which he is always boosting their hopes with broken promises that the case will soon be solved.

The only thing that will close the case will be law enforcement coming to terms with the concept of forensic awareness and specific counter activities used by the Ramsey family.

Dead children don't play with toys.

In my opinion, we are never going to hear about what the Cold Case Review team found. It wasn't solved when it happened and it won't be solved now. I think that the BPD and the Boulder County District Attorney's office KNEW who did it, but lacked the guts to go after the Ramseys and their high-powered legal teams.

Ramsey BS.

Burke Ramsey was 9. He can’t be charged due to Colorado law. If he were 10? This would have been a different story. Plus, I don’t buy he did it.

There isn’t enough evidence to charge John.

Either you believe an intruder did it or in my opinion, the killer, who was legally and lawfully in the home, died in 2006.

Interesting read about who was on this special team.
