"Self Quarantined", remember the noncompliance rate I had for my study on driving? 20% were admittedly "non compliant". So, in this, the math would be, 42 people.

Yeah, this is why I'm cautioning family and friends to stay away from the large crowded areas - movie theaters, mall, etc. I'm hoping none of them are with my husband's employer. Many folks there from overseas, large campus, etc. They even had an employee who was on the plane with one of the Ebola virus victims last time.

Probably a lot with universities, etc.

A handful of cases now in my city in Europe, and stores selling out of everything and pulling some Italian produce. Our patient 0 worked only 2km from my house. I can't even get groceries delivered for several days so we're forced to go out, if briefly. This is a city that relies heavily on Chinese and Korean tourists. I'm not necessarily afraid of this virus killing me, but I don't want to suffer through it either.

Yes, it was interesting, when we were discussing this as a situation far away in "China" and within weeks, there was a case in Montana, less than 100 miles from my house. This really spread quickly.

Just found 60 n95 masks that list “ limited protection. It may help reduce exposure to airborne biological agents including H1N1 swine flu, avian flu, other types of influenza, SARS, or other bacterial or viral biological agents and help reduce the risk for influenza infection during a pandemic” from my local small hardware store in Houston area. The workers laughed at me. Hopefully I’ll just be able to use them to clean my chicken coops and mow the yard.

200 people with symptoms self quarantined but did they test them? If they had the symptoms but didn't test them how do we know they didn't have it or spread it? And we know the testing is not terribly accurate. 40% accuracy is what I recall reading on here. We've seen multiple cases of people who tested negative many times before a positive test including the whistleblowing Dr in China who died. He tested negative for like 3 weeks after the start of symptoms.

I am so NOT reassured. I am actually supposed to go to Emory any time now for testing. But I can't find my dozen N95 masks I bought a few years ago and can't find any masks to buy at this point. I was actually at Emory 4 weeks ago and am now suddenly sick. I guess I shouldn't worry since I'm 4 weeks out. But I don't think they were even admitting 4 weeks ago that people were self quarantining here in GA. :/

Yeah the words “self quarantine” has been a concern since the beginning, but honestly now that things are dynamically changing, I’m thinking more about this quarantine situation.

I’m expecting all hell to break loose as far as that goes JMO MOOoooooooooo

Thankfully there have been some patient and cooperative individuals.

But when “fear and panic” and serious situations set in, this can be the time people do extra stupid things, like the guy in “Towering Inferno” that brought down the rescue copter...Conversely, it’s also times like this that the best in people are brought out, heroes, etc.

How long til the Trump conference tonight? Googling

Hint: The Trump TV moment tonight would be the ideal time to head to Costco....

I really think that the "Non Compliance", on driving was interesting, because a follow up study could have correlated "non compliance" on driving restrictions with anti social behavior or maybe narcissism. Personality types who do not care about the consequences of their behavior on others.

This video shows closeup of the spraying apparatus. I have seen different types.

Also note to post video about steel after conference

Whoa, they did it!

Saudi Arabia temporarily bans religious visits to the kingdom amid coronavirus fears
The kingdom announced it will suspend entry for religious purposes, including pilgrimages to Mecca and visits to the Prophet's Mosque in Madina, in an attempt to limit the spread of the contagion.

DH is running out to the local Sherwin Williams now to see if he can find some masks. *fingers crossed*

A couple of things I've read about the masks are that each mask is one time use, and that they do not necessarily prevent the virus from crossing the barrier. They may be effective in preventing infected people from widely spreading the virus.

Boom. Knew that they would have to cancel.
