I know. Also I know HC helped me so much with my RA.
I don't think you were on this thread when I said my HC prescription refill is being shorted (only 14 pills instead of 100 plus they won't mail them anymore. I have to go pick up only 14 pills counted as a full refill by them, every two weeks during a Pandemic. Trying to contact them to complain is almost impossible.)

I'm so sick of talking about Hydroxychloroquine, but even if they're still testing and running trials...I just want my full prescription mailed to me. Going to pick it up at my medical clinic or the hospital pharmacy is exposing me needlessly.

Yeah, I think the people already on the medication should be prioritized for receiving it, and then extra supply should go to the studies and compassionate use.

I guess the supply chains don't work that way, they just have to try and fill as many orders as they can, and the manufacturers/suppliers wouldn't always know if the pharmacy is ordering it for people with RA or for doctors who want to try it on their Covid patients :(

Even if you don't want your children and grandchildren to know all you write, there might be some things you could leave to them. For example, how did you and your husband met, how was your courtship, engagement and wedding. What guests were at your wedding. Where have you lived since you were a child. Relatives and friends you have had. There is so many memories to write about, and you don't have to write down things you prefer to keep private. Write how you would describe your life if your great grandchildren asked you.

I like that suggestion! One thing I've tried to do is create a timeline of events for my family. It starts with the births of my parents and is organized by year. It includes births, deaths, marriages, where we lived, trips we took, health events like surgeries and major illnesses, and so on. I started doing it because I had trouble remembering when things happened, so it's a handy reference for me.

COVID TRACKING PROJECT

Our daily update is published. We’ve now tracked 5.6 million tests, up 135k from yesterday, fewest since April 15.
Note that we can only track tests that a state reports.
For details, see: The COVID Tracking Project The COVID Tracking Project on Twitter

The data today is confusing. After days of huge test volumes, we're back to the levels of the earlier plateau.
The fewest new cases were confirmed of any day in April, but the positive rate was higher than in the last few days, too.

Gosh. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees!
Just heard my favorite doctor mention, that two of the following symptoms are NOT related to covit-19. Sneezing or a runny nose!
For those of us with allergies like me, this is very reassuring news!
I then started thinking about the symptoms of Covit-19, he's correct. They do not mention sneezing, or runny noses.
What a relief to know that. I'm going through boxes of tissues like crazy for a funny nose.

Sorry, I'm on my tablet, don't know how to show a direct link.
but the above into will get you this info.
same link will allow you to re-listen to him via the iheartradio.com podcast.

(Here is a link that I read a couple of days ago. I had a minor headache this morning. I was worried, then I had to blow my runny nose. I stopped worrying. Runny nose is good news.:):))

A runny nose rarely occurs with COVID-19, and sneezing is still not a symptom of the virus.

It might be a good time to put a moratorium on all lawsuits related to CoV-19. Otherwise, I foresee that everyone will have justification at some point to initiate a lawsuit. The costs will be endless.

Wait, what? Why would you recommend such an extremely important and common sensical thing??

I was at a meeting today and all I can say is that decision-makers are not thinking the way you are - and they should be. Sigh. They need to communicate in written words with their governmental agencies and get that hold-harmless thing in place.

I predict this will not happen everywhere. Or at all. What a mess it will be if K-12 parents are able to sue for any illness or harm to the kids. Sure, the kids are relatively all right - but some of them will have negative outcomes (like coma). Yes, we should take care of those kids lifelong - as a matter of course. The parents shouldn't have to sue for a 500M though.

Anthony Fauci, director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said the country will be able to double its COVID-19 testing capacity over the next several weeks, which is needed to safely reopen portions of the economy, according to The Hill on Sunday.

We probably should get up to twice that as we get into the next several weeks, and I think we will," Fauci was quoted by The Hill as saying. "Testing is an important part of what we're doing, but it is not the only part."

High rates of positive results generally mean that not enough individuals are getting tested, Fauci said.

Fauci cautioned against getting "fixated" on the amount of testing kits available, according to The Hill. He said it is more important to ensure "you have enough tests to respond to the outbreaks that will inevitably occur as you try and ease your way back into the different phases."

I don't know if you live around here, but there's Red Tide going on causing Bioluminescence that makes those glowy waves at night. It's fascinating and quite beautiful to see. I guess you could sit in your car to watch it. As you know, you can't sit on that beach yet.

Where are you? Approximately?

@Curious Me I don’t know what your situation is, but someone I know recently told me that she was unable to get this medication refilled for her RA. She is on Medicare and has a Rx supplement through AARP. She contacted AARP and they sent her a 3 month refill. Thought I’d pass this along if you were possibly in the same situation.

The Civil Rights issues are really heating up:

Political divisions over Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s statewide stay-at-home restrictions were on full display Monday, as a judge issued a temporary injunction allowing a Republican legislator to disregard the order, a decision Pritzker quickly denounced while forcefully defending his actions to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Louisiana coronavirus stay-at-home order extended until May 15, with three changes
"Restaurants will be allowed to let customers eat outdoors on patios if there is no table service, malls can operate curbside retail and public-facing workers must wear masks. Those three changes will take place May 1, when the current order is set to expire"
I’m from Louisiana and very glad Gov. John Bel Edwards is extending the stay home order for 2 weeks. Our governor is consulting with public health doctors. Although we dint live in the New Orleans area, my son and his family do. The only place my husband’s gone is pick up restaurant food curbside and get groceries curbside or the shop inside during the senior designated hours.

Well, there's a threat if I've ever seen one. Jmo

Whoa. That's getting really down and dirty - and serious. From what I can tell, the Chinese are in general panicked about the disease and their economy. However, if they have to hunker down and live without their export revenue...what is is that they're getting from Australia that they need? I'm truly curious.

I know that the ships heading west, from North America to China, carry almost nothing of value. Recyclables are sort of valuable but even China has moved past that. They have such huge stores of everyone's plastic bottles (from which your clothing is often made) that they do not need more.

Pastor defies house arrest, again holds service during virus

“The virus doesn’t have a brain,” Spell said. “It don’t stop at the door of the White House and come into the door of the church house. The virus don’t have a brain, but we can bind fear right now. God gave you an immune system to kill that virus.”

Spell also said Americans are “like prisoners in their homes.”

“People are losing their collective minds,” Spell said. “People are bewitched. People are bewildered. People are confused. ... Come out of your hiding, America.”

In a livestream from the church on Sunday, images including photos from Spell’s arrest, as well as information for a account to help with his legal costs, played over music being performed at the church.

The defiant pastor also flouted his house arrest and at one point, he lifted up his pant leg to show off his ankle monitor, declaring: 'We're not hiding any more.'

But in a supply-and-demand economy, that never happens without strict governmental regulation. Which, apparently, many Americans do not want to have.

Can't have cake and eat it too. So, it's "highest bidder" and there are corporations with entire divisions that simply buy every single unit of whatever it is that you want - in order to sell it to you at a higher price.

Pharmaceuticals are no exception. My little neighborhood pharmacy cannot compete with WalMart pharmacies and their pricing.

Absolutely no one on the supply side cares about what the drugs are used for or if the right people get them. It's hard enough to get corporations to obey actual laws. They are not charitable.
