An overwhelming majority of Colorado believes strong measures, like the closure of businesses, are needed to slow the spread of the coronavirus, a new poll finds.

The sentiment — shared by two-thirds of residents — appears to conflict with a push by Gov. Jared Polis to begin reopening Colorado starting today with curbside retail sales and nonemergency medical procedures. And it’s amplified by the 43% plurality who believe the worst of the pandemic is yet to come, compared to 35% who believe the worst is behind us.

The data “makes it clear that people don’t want to be rushed back to work until they can do it safely, without putting their loved ones and coworkers at risk,” said Jake Williams, the executive director at Healthier Colorado.

The question about how to balance public health concerns with the impact on the economy found that 64% agreed the state “should take measures aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus while more widespread testing becomes available — even if that means many businesses will have to stay closed.” The support is the same rate among residents who lost their job, income or work hours due to the coronavirus.

Most Coloradans don’t think state should reopen until more coronavirus testing is available, poll says
In CO we just aren’t ready. Our Governor lifted the ban on Realtors showing houses, and it’s specified that homes are disinfected between each showing plus Buyers agents are instructed to wipe all doorknobs, light fixtures and anything else that may have been touched. It’s also required we give prospective buyers masks and gloves prior to entering any home. But here’s the problem—there are no disinfecting wipes to be found. It’s actually easier to find masks, and that’s no picnic.

I just spent an hour shopping online and the best I could do were some no-name wipes that would ship from China mid-May and arrive late June or July. We can’t get the supplies needed to keep our clients safe, yet out the door we go.

The RE market was already a zoo in the Denver metro, with far more buyers than available inventory. Now even more people want their own house, while for sale inventory’s only gotten worse—Sellers don’t want strangers tromping through their home touching who knows what.

No matter how eager their Buyers are to start shopping, some agents are going to continue to stay home while others are out there selling without adequate supplies. That puts a ton of pressure on the ones staying home as they lose eager clients to agents blessed w/a supply source or willing to list/show without adequate supplies.

I’m feeling the pinch but will likely stay home since I can’t guarantee precautions can be followed and don’t want to catch it, bring it home or contribute to the spread. IMO making us wait a few more weeks would have been safer, and personally the level playing field would be nice.

IMO there’s not a compelling economic reason to let agents loose. Most people wanting to buy/sell homes now would still do so when the can if forced to wait till adequate testing/PPE are available. Yes, it’s a financial hardship for me, but unlike bars, restaurants, etc—much of lost spring real estate sales would be made up later in the year. The financial hardship for the many Realtors in CO is no worse (and probably better) than those in food service and other industries still forced to stay closed. They will never get that revenue back.

I know there are valid dissenting views. This is just my opinion.

Well okie dokie then. People are going to randomly come by folks house without notice and ask them for blood and question them? That's interesting. I wonder which tests they are using, because as I posted on this main thread just yesterday, some of the tests have a 14% false positive rate.

COVID-19 Antibody Testing Activity

The Georgia Department of Public Health, Fulton County and Dekalb County Boards of Health are working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to learn more about the spread of COVID-19 in the community. This investigation will help us estimate the percentage of people in the community who have been infected with the virus that causes COVID-19. Some people may have had COVID-19 but were not tested, did not have any symptoms, or did not seek medical care.

From April 28 through May 4, teams will be visiting randomly selected homes in Fulton and Dekalb counties to ask residents questions about their health and to collect blood samples for an antibody test......
Wow -- why stop there -- add the Census too and then claim efficiency.

yes after they were shipped, Amazon posted a 'problem with order' message - too late to cancel and ask for refund
I thought I had carefully screened out items coming from China but I must've missed this one ... I was blinded by the good reviews I guess lol
oh well, it's not that much of a loss in terms of money; I just hope we start seeing local supplies of these pandemic items
I don't get it. If order doesn't arrive by a certain date it is supposed to arrive by, you should be able to get a refund. At least so far, I have been able t get refunds on anything that didn't show up.

This is graphic - warning.
Meat chickens are bred so that they cannot live long. They have been engineered by humans to become so large that their muscles and bones just collapse under their own weight. Those who rescue these creatures are incredible people because they are signing on for monitoring food intake and still losing the chickens at a very young age. They are different from laying hens. This is why hatcheries that breed laying hens throw those day old males right into the grinder (alive) to die, because they can’t be used by the factories that produce meat birds and almost nobody wants a regular rooster, so they can’t sell many.

This is your food supply. It is in no way kind or humane. And that is why I do not eat chicken. I hope their “euthanasia” isn’t going to be the awful gas fogging I’ve seen video of. It is not humane. But of course, no “euthanasia” for that many birds will be.
Do you have a MSM link for this info?

Coronavirus: UK to fall silent in tribute to key workers who have died with COVID-19

The nation will fall silent on Tuesday to pay tribute to the key workers who have lost their lives during the coronavirus pandemic.

The deaths of more than 90 frontline NHS workers have been confirmed by Sky News since 25 March, and those in other key sectors such as private social care and transport have also died.

Boris Johnson, who was struck down with coronavirus himself and spent time in intensive care, will join others across Britain observing the minute's silence at 11am.

The prime minister's official spokesperson confirmed he would be supporting the tribute, adding: "We will be asking everybody who works in the government to take part and we would hope that others will take part nationwide as well."

Dame Donna Kinnair, chief executive and general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing, said the country owes a "tremendous debt" to its NHS staff.

"This moment will bring together a sombre but grateful nation. Whether in nursing or driving buses, our heroes kept going to work when many had the luxury of staying at home," she said.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A judge has overturned Gov. JB Pritzker's extended stay-at-home order in a bombshell ruling.

Downstate Republican State Representative Darren Bailey filed a lawsuit last week challenging the governor's authority to issue a stay-at-home order.

On Monday, a judge ruled in favor of the lawsuit, granting a temporary restraining order blocking the governor's extended stay-at-home order which was to take effect Friday and run through the end of May. The order had loosened restrictions on some businesses and allowed for some outdoor recreation to resume.

Coronavirus Update: Illinois' stay-at-home order overturned by judge as IL COVID-19 death toll nears 2K with 45K total cases
So the governor was going to loosen some restrictions but the lawsuit would not allow that so still all lockeddown as strict as before? I don't understand what the judge's authority is to overrule the governor. How does that work?

I understand if you Scroll and Roll, I just want to explain how outrageous it is that my provider is doing this. It seems illegal to make me go pick up my medication. I hope my children will sue if I get Covid-19 and end up dying from being exposed. It'd be too hard to prove tho'. I used to order refills online and they'd mail me my Rx. MOO, it's not right, it really seems illegal. Here I sit at home isolating for 40+ days, but the health care machine drags me out in the middle of a Pandemic. I'm just disappointed in my provider making such a mandate.

Seinfeld rerun has the "toilet paper episode"...can't spare a square. :)
This link has a good video of a patient visiting a doctor with covid toe and also some info about all the skin rashes associated with CV19.

In the middle of a Pandemic Quarantine the ocean tries to entice us to come out of isolation. The ocean wants to give us a pretty treat. Take a look at the Bioluminescence.
Natural Phenomenon Turns San Diego’s Waves Electric Blue

Used to get around town more, and it was much more mellow in the day. My son took his family for a ride to see the glowy waves. Didn't get a chance to ask him how it went.
This note is under the pics.

"Note: This gallery of photographs was captured during a streak of bioluminescence in late May 2019."

I'm not taking sides or making any kind of political statement.
Personally, I think Covid-19 was already around in the U.S. in
January 2020 of even earlier.

"Patricia Dowd, 57, died on February 6 at home days after complaining of flu like symptoms..."

Amid Signs Coronavirus Came Earlier, Americans Ask: Did I Already Have It?

"In January, a mystery illness swept through a call center in a skyscraper on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Close to 30 people in one department alone had symptoms — dry, deep coughs and fevers they could not shake."

WHO recorded the first US case as 22 Jan 2020 in Washington state in their Sitrep report no.3. I have posted the link several times but can repost if necessary.

Here's the link to all WHO SitReps anyway.

Pastor defies house arrest, again holds service during virus

“The virus doesn’t have a brain,” Spell said. “It don’t stop at the door of the White House and come into the door of the church house. The virus don’t have a brain, but we can bind fear right now. God gave you an immune system to kill that virus.”

Spell also said Americans are “like prisoners in their homes.”

“People are losing their collective minds,” Spell said. “People are bewitched. People are bewildered. People are confused. ... Come out of your hiding, America.”

In a livestream from the church on Sunday, images including photos from Spell’s arrest, as well as information for a ******** account to help with his legal costs, played over music being performed at the church.

The defiant pastor also flouted his house arrest and at one point, he lifted up his pant leg to show off his ankle monitor, declaring: 'We're not hiding any more.'
Goodness. So, Americans are bewitched, bewildered, and confused? Maybe it's Spell who fits this definition.

I was just ready to go to bed and saw this new article. She was the woman that was in contact with someone 2 hrs. before she died. It makes me wonder how she could have such inflammation in her body, in her heart, and not realize she was so very sick and needed to get to a hospital. See you all tomorrow...I hope.

What you can do is get some Baby Wipes and make up a little very diluted bleach solution and pour it into the packet just enough to moisten them. I did this with some antiseptic wipes I had that had dried out and they are fine for wiping down trolley handles, car keys, credit cards, car doors etc when going shopping. I leave them in the car anyway so they are liable to dry out somewhat.

Good morning everyone.
Today marks the start of week seven? eight? nine? of my personal quarantine. I’ve lost count of the weeks and the days are now running into one, but I’m still very happy to be able to stay safe at home.
London is grey and cool and it’s raining really, really hard this morning. Sucker that I am for the cats, I went out with them as usual as they trooped into the garden this morning. It was actually lovely, sitting out there under a gigantic umbrella, coffee in hand. Everything smells so clean, all the greenery looks so vibrant during a rainstorm.
After breakfast, I braved the rain to put extra support canes down for the tomato plants - and was rewarded by the sight of two baby-small frogs trying their hardest to blend into the soil. I love that my garden is a safe place for them.
Back indoors and dried off, I made my favourite soup for lunch - roasted red pepper, tomato, peanut and chipotle soup with enough left over for lunches over the rest of the week.
Stay safe today, Sleuthers ❤️
