As dozens of airlines around the world forgo massive profits and suspend flights to China amid fears of spreading the new coronavirus, Africa's biggest airline continues to transport thousands from China every day.

Ethiopian Airlines has become the loudest proponent of sticking by China and keeping trade links open. Six other African airlines, including Kenya Airways and South African Airways, have suspended their flights.

British traveller may have spread novel coronavirus across Europe, officials say

The man’s employer, the British industrial sensor company Sermovex, held a conference at Singapore’s five-star Grand Hyatt Hotel from Jan. 20 to 22. At the time, there were 94 foreigners at the hotel, including some from Hubei province, the epicentre of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The hotel said it was informed by Singapore’s Ministry of Health that three people who attended the conference experienced symptoms after returning to their home countries of Malaysia and South Korea and have now been diagnosed with the virus.

I wish all the major developed nation would tell their citizens to have a moratorium on traveling for a few weeks until the new cases of the coronavirus reach a plateau or begin to decline. Businesses should do the same WRT business travel, big conferences and meetings. Surely those can be postponed a couple of weeks. We can do this now or wait until things get worse in nations outside of China. I don't think most governments are taking this as seriously as they should, MOO.

According to the source, the individual was aboard the first flight from Wuhan, China to Miramar last Wednesday.

The official says the individual is an adult. It’s unclear whether the patient is a man or a woman at this time.


The individual was taken to the UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment and is in isolation. They are in good condition, health officials say.

This is not a political statement. Trump has said the virus will be gone by spring. Just think this is understating the problem. The virus appears to be multiplying. Today another case in San Diego, first flight back.
