Airdate: 12/30/04

A look at natural phenomena such as global warming and viruses and their potential to destroy civilization.

Awww POOOEY I guess this means I have to clean my house now I was waiting just in case I could slide out of another load of dishes, I hate dirty dishes grrrrr

Happy No End to the World folks !

I did the next best thing - watched Dr. Strangelove

What a great thread. You guys gave me a lot of laughs, which I need, because now I have to clean my house, since I put it off because the world was ending.

Can't tell you how many times in my lifetime that there have been end of the world predictions. None as much fun as this one, thanks to our Websleuths.

I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have put off the housework this long because I'm really going to have to work overtime to get the place in decent order for Christmas Eve. :what:

Bah, humbug!

Oh gosh...they are already starting the next one. Reading reports that the calendar was a couple days to a year off. Good grief. Give it up!

Are you guys done with your Mayan calendar end of the word thing? Is it safe for me to land?

Getting out of planet Earth may be one option to avoid an apocalypse.

Stephen Hawking, the eminent British physicist, told the BBC earlier this year that the human race needed to colonize space because it was under the threat of extinction within the next thousand years from disasters such as nuclear war or global warming.

But escaping Earth could mean the emergence of another threat — alien civilizations.
