Sorry if this was covered elsewhere and I did not see, but in the Toronto charges, were their appearances at court in Toronto? If so was it by videolink or personal appearances (MS is already in Toronto unless he was moved again).

Yes, in Toronto.

The new charges were formally laid against Millard and Smich in a Toronto courtroom Thursday.

And yes, in person.

He said Millard was in court Thursday to be formally arraigned on the additional charges.

“Further, Mark Smich, 26 years, was also brought before the (courts Thursday) where he was formally charged with first-degree murder in relation to the death of Laura Babcock,” McLane said.

May 22, 2014, DM, MS and CN will all appear in court again. I have to wonder if all three involved will be tried as one case. I think it will but that's JMO.
From June 13th article.

It's still unclear if Millard and Smich will be tried together.

Wonder what DP knows now and what he's thinking about his client. MOO.

"There shouldn't be a rush to judgement. Often cases appear to be much stronger than they are initially," he said outside court.
"I say step back, wait for everything to unfold at trial and just give a fair hearing to Mr. Millard."

Paradkar said the death of Millard's father isn't considered a criminal matter and added that any connection between Millard and Babcock's disappearance was "utter speculation."

Hmm according to media reports, CN wasn't to appear until Thursday, May 22nd, along with DM and MS. It would be more convenient for TB's family if these hearings could be done on the same day. I would imagine SB knows a lot of the details surrounding Tim's death now. Horribly sad and may justice be served to the maximum. JMO.

Christina Noudga made a brief appearance at the Sopinka Courthouse in Hamilton. She walked in wearing shackles around her ankles. Noudga was dressed in street clothes: a brown leather jacket and dark jeans. She wasn’t wearing any makeup.

While Noudga was in court, Sharlene Bosma, Tim’s widow met with the Crown Attorney for an update on the case.

All three appeared, just as stated in last court appearance. Maybe CN has no one supporting her, visiting her or bringing her clothing. Wearing the same green (turquoise) shirt she wore the day of her arrest? Last appearance May 20th, and the day of her first appearance she wore a leather jacket.

Some parents DO turn their children over to the law...just saying and MOO. :dunno:

Has DM been reading past media reports about him looking tired? Now he's bounding into the prison video room?

Sharlene Bosma and a small group of supporters sat quietly in a courtroom Thursday afternoon for video appearances by Dellen Millard, 28, Mark Smitch, 26, and Christina Noudga, 21.

Millard, who bounded into the prison's video room and spoke in a loud and self-assured tone, appeared in prison overalls. Smitch wore the same.

Noudga spoke quietly and wore a green top.

During a brief court appearance Friday, Noudga (who turns 22 on April 26) was escorted into the prisoner's dock wearing leg irons, dark pants, a turquoise T-shirt and brown leather jacket.[/I]

11:14 AM - 9 Jun 2014

Court documents show that Matthew Ward-Jackson was scheduled to appear in court at 11:30 this morning for a bail / show cause hearing.

According to the information filed in court, Odlum is co-accused with two others: Matthew Ward-Jackson, 26, of Mississauga, and Matthew Jackson Wawrykiewicz, 28, of Aurora.

Ward-Jackson is additionally charged with two other firearm trafficking offences from February and September 2012.

All three names appear on a newly filed list of people Millard and Smich have been ordered by the court not to have any contact with.

Police allege all three trafficked a gun between June 1, 2012, and July 30, 2012.

We already knew about the gun trafficking charge for those three though.....
AB says a "strange new twist"

The charges were already made known, yes, but MWJ was scheduled for a bail / show cause hearing earlier today. During this hearing, it is up to the Crown to "show cause" as to why he should not be granted bail. Since he is alleged to have been involved in the trafficking of a firearm to DM, a "strange new twist" may very well be revealed as part of the evidence.

Ah ok... maybe they said the actual date of the gun sale. If it's around July 3rd that would certainly be a "strange new twist".

If there is another "strange new twist", I doubt we'll hear about it. Bail hearings are also generally subject to publication bans.

So are these the three extra names MS had on his no contact list all along?

Given the three cases were under case management together, would it make sense, or not help at all, to try them in order of date of death?
