This article from 4/12/2017 updates that David was seen later in New London, CT which is south of Montville from his family in Windham/Willimantic.
"Police on Wednesday said they have learned Manley was last seen in the area of Bank Street in New London about 2:40 p.m. They did not provide information about who saw him or what he was doing......"
http://www.theday.com/article/20170412/NWS04/170419809

He lived (or had lived) on Bank Street in New London per googling at: http://connvoters.com/mobile/by_number/0009/01967_david_r_manley.html

Were any searches done in the New London area?
David's phone records will be key for communications, contacts, and locations. Was his place searched? His car?

Did anyone notice his addresses on the voter ID sight? He went back and forth between the 2. As far as searches I've not read of any. I don't think it's even been said he had a car, how or who he was meeting with on the day in question. I also wonder how they know this latest sighting was him or someone else. So few clues to work with here.

I was able to find out a little more from David's NamUs profile:

"Last seen by a taxi driver who dropped him off near the intersection of Water and South Water Street in New London, CT. Walking towards South Water Street." (BBM)
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/show/37915

According to the article FBEye posted, "[Family members] told police they last saw Manley on March 3 when he left their Jordan Road residence in Windham to pick up a friend in Montville.

Assuming the sighting was legitimate -perhaps he took an Uber, rather than a traditional cab, which LE would have been able to confirm via the app-, it could be surmised that David took a cab from either the Jordan RD residence in Windham or from Montville -after a stop there- to the Bank Street area in New London. According to Google Maps, it is an approximately half-hour drive from the Windham residence to Montville, and then an additional 15 minutes from Montville to the corner of Water ST and S Water ST in New London:

Looking at the Street View of where David was last seen ...:

It's right on water ... :(.

Hoping that David comes home soon safe and sound!

Yes, very it's interesting with the back & forth on the addresses, Physco....

It looks like he had 2 DUIs 8 days apart in 2011 , so probably/possibly didn't drive.....

In one of his FB pics he has his right knee wrapped, maybe injured himself and couldn't drive anymore?

With so little info to work with, every detail matters trying to find out what may have happened.

IMO and all that

From being very familiar with the area of New London, it's a historic seafarer town. Lots of restaurants & antique shops in the Water/Bank Street area. But it has its fair share of crime.
There's the Lawrence Memorial Hospital close by.

Over a month now since the last post. Are there any new articles or information?

Nothing, bluegrey, I have been checking online and there's absolutely nothing. No new articles after the April ones.

Strange, too, that David's personal facebook I linked up ^ thread is now no longer accessible/content not available. Did David take it down/change the privacy settings? Or someone else?

Over another month gone by with nothing whatsoever (at least, that I can find via google!). Sad. I assume its all quiet because there's no crime suspected.

Also, regarding the post above, maybe his family made it private or asked it to be made private so people don't find his friends and family through it and start playing amateur detective through their lives? It's one thing to glance through a missing person's facebook page, but let's face it......there are some......odd ducks out there who take things too far and insert themselves into cases. Perhaps they had a problem with one of those, or wanted to prevent that. Can't blame them, if so.

The recently found body appears to be much heavier than David was known to be at the time of his disappearance. I wonder if they really can accurately assess the weight of the body if it seems likely that it has been in the water for some time-unless David has been in the habit of wearing his old clothes that would have fit him when he was heavier. This may be giving LE the estimate of the person's weight

It is probably not him. The clothing and weight don't match: The deceased man is described as approximately six feet tall, around 200 lbs., approximately 45-55 years of age, with brown eyes, medium length brown hair, medium length brown/grey beard. He was wearing tan cargo shorts and an olive colored plaid button down shirt.

I don't know about the beard. And I don't think he would be wearing shorts in March when it was still cold in CT.

It would appear that the facebook page for David is gone. At least on my end. Can anyone else confirm? Thanks

Looking at David's NamUs profile, it is unlikely this gentleman is him, IMO: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/37915/0/

I hope David is found very soon, and the UID identified.

I am baffled by the lack of LE updates or family statements. Coupled with his facebook page going MIA, I am inclined to believe that his family has a good idea where he is now and they are trying to protect his privacy because he's going through something psychological. It seems to me that there is more to the story than what is being made public. I hope he is or has been found safe.

It appears it's been two years since David Manley has been seen. No news coverage or a peep from his family since shortly after he was reported missing in March of 2017. Any updates on this very odd case? He was known by many people of all ages.
