His mother wrote on Facebook that her son left his apartment after 'talking to his roommate's wife briefly'.
'He never made it to work on the USS North Dakota Submarine docked at Naval Submarine Base New London.
'Some facts don’t make sense but him just not showing up for work is the most important,' she said in the Facebook post.

She said that his roommates thought they saw him dressed for work, but his uniform, pins and boots were found in his room.

IMO, the obvious is that he wrecked his bike. But the above caught my attention

Has there been any mention of a cell phone?

I’ve lived near the Nuclear Submarine base & Electric Boat in Groton, CT. Lots of Navy housing there.....nothing fancy.
The terrain of Groton/Ledyard & surrounding North Stonington is hilly & roads can be curving/winding with backroads of hilly, icy narrow roads & farmland. Stone walls hundreds of years old delineate acreage. The Thames River is nearby as well as the LI Sound.
Not a great area to be racing a rocket-style motorcycle.....and it still has been winter weather in CT periodically.
Prayers for this young sailor.....hopefully he just decided to frequent the two enormous Native American casinos for a few days??!!

His name is actually Jacob Tyler. Can the headline be corrected?

I am familiar with his position, and he has gone through a very elite training program. (He is a submarine officer). This guy is no slouch. He has had an accident, is my speculation.
He looks like a terrific guy, let’s pray he is found alive, and quickly!

Was just in Groton yesterday so this caught my eye. I hope he is okay!

I wonder if he has any friends or group of friends that would be familar with where he might spend time riding his bike if he was just going for a leisurely ride. He may have riding buddies that could be helpful with where to check the ditches along the roads he rides.

Hmmmm.... how many roommates are there?

Two. A husband and wife. The wife is the last person to see him. They spoke briefly.

I'm confused. Sounds like he could have disappeared two days before he was supposed to go to work?

"We just can't come up with any answers, we just can't put this puzzle together," Barbara said.
Groton Police along with NCIS agents are reviewing Tyler's cell phone records for clues. Tyler's mom said it pinged near his apartment for two days before going dead.
"There's a time lapse between the time he went missing, and the time he would've come back here, changed clothes and left on his motorcycle," she said.
Barbara said he left his uniform, pins and boots behind. Tyler's car was parked nearby with his keys still in the vehicle. Yet he and blue 2014 Honda motorcycle with Connecticut plates were gone. Tyler's two brothers joined their mother in Connecticut to help authorities go over all the small pieces of the sailors life to find a missing piece of their family.
