I was worried about KM stroking out from detox and so I'm glad he is in a different prison where he can be watched a bit more closely.Yeah, I absolutely never saw this coming. I was worried about KM, but not FD.
I still don’t think he’s going to make it. Hell, law enforcement on the scene believed he was dead, and he likely was before he was revived.
Remember those two kids whose mother hung them recently?
They managed to revive them too, but they still didn’t have a chance. I think he lingers for a couple days, before his family pulls the plug.
I’m convinced this was genuine, and not some effort to garner sympathy. The best case scenario for him, is that he suffers minimal brain damage.Color me Skeptical with a Capital "S".
BUT, looking back at the entirety of the news today on:
-- What Fd did ("attempted" suicide via carbon monoxide poisoning in his vehicle in his garage with the hose up the tailpipe bit that could be seen from the garage window and hence he was "rescued" by LE),
-- Where Fd is now (in a hospital in NYC instead of in jail in CT), and
-- Where Fd may be going if he survives (to some type of medical facility instead of in jail in CT)
I have to admit to feeling some degree of hinkiness here.
Simply because he has always pulled the most incredible shenanigans, deceptions, manipulations, coercions, ploys, coverups, games, etc., etc., and now that they have all come to naught and he's real scared of doing the time for his crime, he's resorted to 'playing possum' in this way to save himself from the loneliness of living under house arrest with no real livelihood, assets or support, or going back to jail because of problems with his $6 million bail bond.
I think he's a fighter and is not going to give up trying to find a way to get out of his situation without pulling out all the stops.

I think it’s similar in that it causes the heart to stop. We all know what happens to the brain from a lack of oxygen.I was worried about KM stroking out from detox and so I'm glad he is in a different prison where he can be watched a bit more closely.
The hanging case is somewhat different I think from the gas. The neuro effects of the gas can impact so many other functions from lungs, to heart to brain.
I am now convincing myself to suck it up and do the maths! Grrrr.
I am sure Fd figured this all out and the timing around the court appearance today (as many have pointed out) is simply too coincidental.
Did Fd figure out how long he could be in that Suburban before LE would turn up and realise he wasn't where he was supposed to be?
I think its a curious question.

Nope the impact of the gas potentially on the heart and brain can be devastating. Lung damage can also be extreme. That's why I wanted to figure out his possible exposure time but I think we have a good range and know that he took that phone call to the other bondsman.I think it’s similar in that it causes the heart to stop. We all know what happens to the brain from a lack of oxygen.
He wasn’t breathing, and blood wasn’t flowing. So logically, the results would be the same in that regard.
Whatever else that gas does though, just can’t be good.
Interesting. I wonder if he used his work in oxygen to prolong his life? I've read some interesting things today about oxygen therapy and so will add this book to my list!I once read a fascinating book by author Vance Trimble. The title is, The Uncertain Miracle: The History of Hyperbaric Medicine. It's out of print, but there is a copy at Amazon.
Mr Trimble was born in 1913 and he's still alive at age 106.
Yes, but did Fd really want to die today? There was a photo of the Suburban in the garage in MSM with a black hose from the tailpipe looped back presumably into the car. So no not staged as an accident (nor a “revenge suicide”)
Something that I didn’t realize, is that this method takes a lot longer than it did in the past (when cars had higher emissions).Nope the impact of the gas potentially on the heart and brain can be devastating. But the idea of possibly depleting the body of oxygen in advance of trying to kill yourself is an interesting idea too that isn't obvious to most.
I don't know much about suicide methods and so hadn't thought of that angle. Maybe Fd did think of that angle given the limited amount of time he knew he had this am?
Fd rarely makes anything easy or simple.
So annoying.

I agree it was planned and controlled, like everything else he does was.I’ll do an experiment tomorrow and see if I can figure out how long it would have taken.
I totally agree, I think he had this all planned out in advance, and it was merely a matter of execution.
I think he probably planned to do this just prior to trial, but decided to expedite this. He was never going to trial, because he knew that meant he’d be spending the rest of his life behind bars.
He needs control, and simply wouldn’t allow the state to take that away. Boy, I really hope he survives.
He new about the night before not much noticeYes, but did Fd really want to die today?
He knew the window of time he had to work with as he was due in Court.

I’m convinced this was genuine, and not some effort to garner sympathy. The best case scenario for him, is that he suffers minimal brain damage.
His entire life can be summed up with one word: “Control.”
He feared he was losing that, and suicide was a final act of a desperate man. He doesn’t appear to have had any realistic expectation of being saved, and it appears he went out of his way to see that he wasn’t.
He’s only alive because some well trained medical personnel performed a miracle.
I’m as skeptical and cynical as anyone when it comes to a situation like this, but it doesn’t appear to me as “a cry for attention.”
He was deadly serious.
Yes, I was saying that what he did for whatever reasons and predicted chances of success, he got himself out of the uncomfortable situations he was in because he had painted himself into a terrible little corner.Perfection!
So, you are saying that today we saw Fd in the words of Charlie Sheen, as "WINNING"?
IDK, its all kinda a bit too extra to me to say nothing of risky.
The reason I am absolutely not discounting your theory is that the timing of this today was simply too tight.
I guess we will also find out in the next 24-48 hrs exactly how much Fd might have paid attention is his math classes at Brown.
I'm not convinced he will make it through this but we will just have to do what we have been doing which is staying tuned to this Greek Horror Show!

If he survives, I think he’s likely a vegetable, being fed through a tube.Yessss

If he survives does he get to enjoy ..

Yes, if he had an old vintage Jeep or a Defender or maybe one of the old style diesel Mercedes and then he would have been finished.Something that I didn’t realize, is that this method takes a lot longer than it did in the past (when cars had higher emissions).
There’s a shocking amount of discussions about it.
If I’m correct, he used a 2015 Suburban here. That would appear less than ideal.
