A judge on Friday dismissed a juror in the trial of a Connecticut woman accused of helping her boyfriend cover up the murder of his estranged wife, after the panelist likened the case to the novel and movie "Gone Girl."

Judge Kevin Randolph received an unsigned note note from a juror in the trial of Michelle Troconis Friday morning, accusing another member of the panel of making the comment in the presence of other jurors.

Yes, @Megnut, 6 jurors and now down to 3 alternates

I was trying to find articles from original jury selection last Oct and found one that listed 8 men, 4 women, but could not get any further breakdown as to age, etc. I believe the alternate dismissed earlier this week was male, not sure about the juror dismissed today.

Per my notes - after the 1/10 juror was dismissed - I did not get a count of genders. And I too have tried to find someone on the breakdown of them, but no success either.

Jury Selection began on 10/4/23 & ended 10/26/23. Started off with 6 jurors & 4 alternates. (6 men & 4 women). As of 1/4/24 2 more jurors were excused. 1/4/24: 6 jurors & 2 alternates. (4 men & 4 women). 1/10/24: 6 jurors & 5 alternates (no idea of gender).
Jury Selection (2nd one) began on 1/9/24 & ended on 1/10/24. 1 alternate juror (male) dismissed (1/17/24). 6 jurors & 4 alternates. 1/18/24: 1 juror was dismissed. Now 6 jurors & 3 alternates.

Blood Pattern Analysis

Davison is back on the stand.

Minimum of 26 stains in this portion of the garage. Selected seven to get the best diversification to determine directionality.

He identifies an elliptical stain implying movement and directionality (top left of photo toward bottom right). Davison is describing which stains he chose and why.

Does anyone have the mapping of the garage that shows the area of convergence? We might see it shortly, but I am getting the impression that JFD was hit with an object while between the driver's side door of the Range Rover and the passenger side door of the Suburban? Not an expert, just currently trying to follow.

ETA: Actually, how did all of this spatter get under where the Suburban would've been parked?

The State is moving methodically through the gridded areas of the garage, identifying with the witness which stains he utilized and why.

[Presumably preparing to enter his report into evidence prior to his expected testimony on his conclusions.]

I know the state is probably limited regarding funds but a large electronic representation of the garage that has all the exhibits/stains marked would be great - even a blown up picture could be color colded for different purposes. If electronic it could light up in different colors etc. for differnt findings.
This one at a time questioning seems pretty dark ages

Witness is now explaining the pink strings in the photograph. Represent the flight pattern of the stains. Horizontal flight path.

Strings intersect at the center of photograph. The area of convergence where the strings intersect.

The goal of reconstruction is to determine a height at which the blood event occurred.

Your guess sounds right. But, if you go back to the testimony from Day 2 I believe, that was when the female detective from the state talked about the maps she did of garage. She went through all the zones and each page was marked with area of convergence.

Witness identifies a mark after reconstruction which shows a range, a mean height of 38" [I think he said] from which the event occurred.

Witness describes stains on the Suburban which would have been parked in the garage, making the height impossible. It would have had to pass through the Suburban.

We are looking at elliptically shaped stains on the Suburban, with directionality, including some which show different directionality.

Witness says this could indicate multiple events.

Witness testifies that based on blood stains on the floor and on the Suburban itself, it is likely that the Suburban was parked in the garage, facing forward, at the time of the bloodshed.

Witness says relative to the stains it's inconclusive as to whether there were multiple events.

We're now looking at another photo of the Suburban. Identifying some larger, some smaller stains, directionality. Stains impacting at angles. Meaning origin was below the level of the vehicle.

Spatter stains on vertical surfaces under the vehicle.

Now showing a stain with scalloped, indicating a drip stain. Now another showing evidence of wiping.

Witness did a reconstruction on the Suburban itself.

We're seeing photos of stains on the side of the vehicle that are radiating, with directionality.

Now we're looking at stains that are curvalinear.

The strings converged near the lower portion of the vehicle by the driver's door and front wheel.

Witness concludes that there are a minimum of two blood events in that area.

32" spatial separation in height between the original area of origin Davison calculated from the floor stains and the area of convergence he calculated from the door on the Land Rover. About a foot separation from each area of convergence...
