Norm Pattis says when Dulos did not show up to court at noon, they tracked his GPS location, saw he was at his home in Farmington and responded.

On Dulos' mindset this morning "obviously the potential for a bond revocation was devastating news to him but throughout he has been a fighter and resolute and in our review of the discovery, we very much liked our options at trial...."

"....And we very much liked our possibility of success so this development comes as stunning news to me."

Authorities expected to revoke the bond for Fotis Dulos, charged with the murder of his estranged wife, Jennifer Farber Dulos, and return him to jail on Tuesday.

Instead, Dulos was discovered by police inside the garage of his Farmington home suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning after an apparent attempt to take his own life.

Dulos, initially believed dead, was rushed to UConn Health in Farmington in critical condition before he ultimately was flown to a hospital in the Bronx for treatment midafternoon Tuesday.

The stunning turn of events set off a day filled with chaos, confusion and misinformation that has thrown the future of the criminal case surrounding the fate of the missing New Canaan mother of five into doubt.

Police say Fotis Dulos in critical condition after sources say he attempted suicide »
Here is how the day unfolded:

8:30 a.m.: Concerns raised earlier about the value of the properties used to secure the $6 million bond Dulos posted after his Jan. 7 arrest on murder charges prompt a Superior Court judge to schedule an emergency hearing to revoke that bond and send Dulos back to jail.

State insurance regulators transmitted their findings to Palmetto Surety — the South Carolina insurer that underwrote the bond with six pieces of real estate — that two of the properties were subject ....

Fotis Dulos in 'perilous condition' after attempting suicide | Daily Mail Online

Jan 28, 2020

The call to police for a wellness check did not come in until 11.54am. It is unclear if she has any significant role in what happened on Tuesday.

Friends told DailyMail.com that Fotis had 'lost his mind' on house arrest.

'Fotis was calling people up and telling them he was losing his mind being stuck at home,' a friend told DailyMail.com.

Police are refusing to confirm whether or not Dulos left a suicide note.

'He was so desperate to get out of the house he even tried to schedule an impromptu meeting with his legal team just as excuse.

'He was told in no uncertain terms that it would be a violation of his house arrest unless he had permission.

'The prospect of having his bond revoked and being locked up again would have sent him completely off the rails.'

The friend added, ominously: 'If he tried to kill himself once, he will try it again. As far as Fotis is concerned, he definitely isn't going to jail.

'He gives the impression he's in control and that he's a tough guy but he's terrified of being locked up.'

Police say Fotis Dulos in critical condition after attempted suicide

Jan 28, 2020

Fotis Dulos was in critical condition in a New York hospital late Tuesday after attempting to kill himself with carbon monoxide poisoning hours after finding out that the state was going to try to revoke his bond and send him back to jail.

[..]

Dulos, 52, was supposed to appear in Stamford Superior Court at noon for a hearing on whether the $6 million bond he posted after his Jan. 7 murder arrest was going to be revoked because the South Carolina company that insured the bond was now claiming that the collateral to cover the bond was not sufficient.

Instead, police found Dulos in the garage of his home. A car was running inside, the doors were closed and a hose was attached to the tailpipe, sources said. Dulos had apparently gone to the garage after his new girlfriend had left to go to the grocery store.

[..]

While at the home, McKenzie said police looked through a window and saw Dulos sitting in his vehicle with “obvious signs of medical distress.” He was pulled out of the garage and placed on the ground where cameras caught medical personnel trying to revive him.

A source told the Courant that during efforts to revive Dulos, a faint pulse was detected while he was en route to UConn Health in Farmington. By then, there were already widespread reports of his death, including notification to the family.

[..]

“Obviously the potential for a bond revocation was devastating news to him, but throughout he has been a fighter and resolute, so this development comes as stunning news to me,” Dulos’ attorney Norm Pattis told NBC News on Tuesday.

[..]

A bond hearing will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m in Stamford Superior Court without Dulos being present.

New York City bondsman Ira Judelson said Tuesday night that he is going to take over the bond for Dulos. Judelson is the bondsman for many high-profile defendants, including well-known movie producer Harvey Weinstein.

Ira Judelson, bail bondsman out of NY, is at Stamford Court for this emergency bond hearing. Says he’s here today just to see what happens. Had been called by Pattis yesterday to potentially take over Dulos’ bond but says it wasn’t a done deal at that time.

Attorneys: Prosecution of Jennifer Dulos case could change after Fotis Dulos suicide attempt

New Canaan attorney Matthew Maddox said it appeared Dulos’ bond was going to be revoked at the courthouse on Tuesday, and that could have set the defendant off.

“No matter what has been the spin to the media about fighting these charges to the bitter end, the allegations in the warrant, as I have said before, are daunting,” Maddox said. “So, regardless about what is being said by his media team, you would have to drink a lot of high-powered Kool-Aid to wake of with a happy face every day if you were Fotis Dulos.”

Hearing on bond is over. Judge issues a re-arrest of Dulos and adds $500,000 to the murder charge. It pretty much puts the whole bond issue on hold while Dulos is in critical condition in the hospital. @News12CT
