Since I can not find anything on this Federal case - and no one here is responding to my questions - this will be the last post for this trial.

Friday, Sept. 16th:
*Trial continues (Day 7) (Federal Child *advertiser censored* & gun) (@ 9am ET) – ME - *Marc J. Karun (21 @ time of crime/53/now 56) charged (12/14/19 in Maine-Federal ) & indicted (11/6/19) & arraigned (12/14/19) with possessing a gun with an obliterated serial number, stemmed from allegedly owning a rifle that had its serial number filed away. Plead not guilty.
Police found 60 weapons & 15,000 rounds of ammunition in his Stetson home. As a convicted felon not legally allowed to own firearms.
*Indicted (3/10/21 in Maine-Federal) charged & arraigned (5/18/21) with possession of child p0rnography. Plead not guilty.
Trial began on 9/6/22 with jury selection continued to 9/7/22 & trial begins on 9/8/22.

I just re-read this. I was thinking his trial will continue on 11/8/22 - but that is not the case - correct?

Is there any updates on Kathleen's case? I have his last hearing for this on 9/21/22.

Notice of Hearing on Motion

On July 19, 2021, this Court denied the Defendant’s motion to dismiss the indictment in the above matter and set the case for jury selection on August 4, 2021. As a result of ongoing pretrial development in companion case 1:21-CR-28-LEW, the above-captioned matter has been continued to the trial period beginning November 8, 2022. Defense counsel filed a motion to suppress evidence in 1:21-CR-28-LEW, and that motion remains pending before the Court. The parties currently anticipate that any sentencing in these matters will occur in the same proceeding at a time following resolution of the motion to suppress evidence in 1:21-cr-00028-LEW.
The defendant waives his rights under the Speedy Trial Act and consents to the exclusion of time until January 3, 2023.

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
1. The parties’ joint motion is hereby GRANTED.
2. The time period between November 8, 2022 and January 3, 2023, is hereby excluded from calculations under the Speedy Trial Act, Title 18, United States Code, Section 3161 et seq.

Karun (21 @ time of crime/53/now 57) – arrested (6/12/19 for a fugitive from justice warrant in Stetson, ME), charged (6/14/19) & arraigned (8/12/19) with capital murder with special circumstance, 1st degree kidnapping & sexual assault. Plead not guilty. $5M bond.
DNA Match; Karun faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole if convicted.
*Was in federal custody in his home state of Maine U.S. District Court where he is accused of illegally storing an arsenal of firearms (60 weapons & 15K rounds of ammunition); in total, Karun owned 34 pistols, 14 rifles, 11 revolvers & one 12-gauge shotgun.
Trial was set to begin on 8/2/22 & 8/3/22 with jury selection has been continued with no further dates.

As far as I know - he is in jail. Nothing in my notes about him bonding out - which is $5 Million.
