In the long saga of Casey Anthony, few reports have been as brutal, gossipy or jaw-dropping as one tonight from Central Florida News 13. Can you say wow? Of course not, if your jaw is on the floor.
Anthony’s civil attorneys ripped into Zenaida Gonzalez, arguing that someone without a reputation can’t sue for defamation.
Anthony’s attorneys also plan to draw on photos from Gonzalez’s MySpace page, Fell reported. “We’re told those pictures are suggestive and show a half-naked Gonzalez,” Fell said. “They’ve since been removed, and Greene wouldn’t share them with us.”
The report’s revelation: Anthony’s attorneys play hardball. They took a bat to Gonzalez on News 13. How will Gonzalez and her team fight back?

Texas EquuSearch files motion in Fernandez-Gonzalez suit against Casey Anthony

By Jeff Weiner, Orlando Sentinel
3:29 a.m. EST, December 4, 2011

"The plaintiffs in two pending lawsuits against Casey Anthony may be teaming up in the hopes of compelling her to answer questions about the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie.

The director of Texas EquuSearch, the noted search and recovery group, said on Saturday he has filed a motion to intervene in the lawsuit brought by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. .....

.....<snipped>

During a recent deposition, Anthony declined to answer many questions by asserting her 5th Amendment rights. Fernandez-Gonzalez's attorneys have filed a motion to compel her to answer.

Now EquuSearch director Tim Miller, who is also suing Anthony, wants to file a brief in support of that motion. EquuSearch's motion to intervene will be heard Monday morning, Miller said. ......."

Casey Anthony: Texas Equusearch can file brief in defamation case, judge says

By Anthony Colarossi, Orlando Sentinel
10:44 a.m. EST, December 5, 2011

"A search-and-rescue team that looked for slain toddler Caylee Anthony can file a brief in Zenaida Gonzalez's civil suit against Casey Anthony, a judge ruled this morning.

Both Texas Equusearch and Gonzalez want Anthony to fully answer questions under oath in separate civil suits. .....

..... Anthony's legal team opposed the filing of the so-called "amicus brief."

Gonzalez attorney Matt Morgan, meanwhile, welcomed the filing.

A hearing on Gonzalez's motion to compel Anthony's full testimony at deposition is scheduled for Thursday, also in front of Judge Munyon. ...... "

"Baez was trying to bully me. I don’t get bullied. I walk a fine line but I don’t step over that line. I am very careful. Baez does not scare me whatsoever," he said.

"I think the comment he made about there being an FBI report about mine and Robyn's relationship was just to scare me. Why would that have any bearing on what happened down there? It’s disgusting that he would even try to do something like that."

In the controversial interview with Geraldo Rivera, Giordano described himself as Robyn's "protector," and told the host that it was "accurate" to say she was promiscuous.

In a live interview, Gardner boyfriend Richard Forester called Giordano “a selfish coward.” He also dismissed the idea that Gardner would go into the water, saying she had hair extensions and feared the ocean.
Then Baez called in to answer Forester and warn that he was “dangerously close to defmation.” Baez also threatened to release an FBI report on the Gardner-Forester relationship.
This should be Forester’s last interview, Baez warned.
Baez would do better to tell Giordano that. Was Baez, with his threats, trying to take the attention off what Forester was saying? Forester had some interesting questions: Why did Giordano wear tennis shoes into the ocean? Why did Giordano have his three sons along for the interview?

Gary Giordano, the lone suspect in the disappearance of Robyn Gardner in Aruba, said he believes human traffickers may be behind it, but he couldn't explain how they might have made off with the woman.
Giordano told "GMA" last week that Gardner may have been kidnapped as part of a human trafficking crime.
"......There's plenty of fodder going on and plenty of nonsense and stories ... but there's absolutely nothing that indicates that Gary is guilty of anything," Giordano's attorney, Jose Baez, said today.

This legislative session will be the last for Sen. Joyce Broadsword, R-Sagle, who will be retiring after serving out the final year of her term. She said projects assisting Idaho residents with Alzheimer’s disease and assisting police in tracking purchases of ingredients for meth will be two big focuses. In addition, she seeks to implement Caylee’s Law, a bill inspired by the Casey Anthony case that would require a parent or guardian to report a missing child within 24 hours.

“I’ve got one year left to serve, and I’m going to put everything I’ve got into that year,” Broadsword said

Defense may seek closed record presentation outside the public eye
The legal teams are scheduled to argue the issue of whether Anthony should be made to fully answer questions during a deposition. Thursday's hearing is part of the civil defamation lawsuit Gonzalez filed against Anthony.
"All of the questions posed by [Gonzalez] required some form or response that might possibly be incriminating or otherwise provide a link in the chain of evidence related to the criminal convictions currently on appeal, or other charges that might be brought," Greene wrote.
On another Casey Anthony front, the state Justice Administrative Commission confirmed that Anthony's criminal defense team billed the state $219,693.81 since she was declared indigent in March 2010. Of that amount, the state has paid $176,255.58 for her criminal defense, according to the JAC numbers.
